Some court reporters work for court reporting agencies - and not all

are independent of an agency. The court reporting agency then hires a transcription company to transcribe the documents. You're working for legit CRs or you're working with crap companies makes no sense. A legal transcription company and a court reporting agency are two different entities. Lots of court reporting agencies can have crappy CRs. Legal transcription companies have nothing to do with the behavior or professionalism of a CR. That is entirely the responsibility of the court reporting agency that the CR is employed by, and of course, the CR themself.
