Is anyone unhappy that MDI PT people are - Not thrilled

getting the same paycut for NO benefits (other than 401K) as FT people are for the full gamut of benefits?  That doesn't seem quite fair to me.  I understand the cut for FT with benefits, just not for PT withOUT benefits.  What exactly is the PT paycut FOR?

Heck, I was not even aware they paid more that 8 for typing and 4 for editing! nm - Go figure!

I recently left MDI, where I worked PT at 11 cpl. So yeah, they used to pay a good bit more than 8 cpl.

I guess they try to come close to paying whatever the company they bought was paying their employees. I remember even on our conference calls they were saying 4 cents per line editing. I am hoping they continue to still pay for spaces. I guess I am lucky to have a job and try not to look at the peanuts I am making compared to newer employees.

It is so wrong! Makes me nauseous. We never get a raise, and now a pay cut for PT who get no benefits. And they had said that those making 9 cpl or less would not get a pay cut but this is not the case. I don't know what to do.

If I had to guess, I'd say they are also cutting PT wages to be more in line with what they pay their current Transcend employees.

I am starting to get a very bad feeling about all of this. I do think though that all of us MDI folks should take Sue (the president of Transcend) at her word and start sending her e-mails asking why things don't seem to be staying the same as she said they would. I remember in the earlier conference calls she kept insisting that they were not going to change things that were working.

of what is working and what is not working when it comes to reduction in line rate, changes in schedules, accounts and F/T or P/T status regarding the newly acquired MTs and accounts from MDI.

Of course they will claim "it's not working." They already have the MDI accounts and most MTs have settled in by now, so now Transcend can do whatever they choose.

The choice to stay or leave ultimately remains with you.

Sadly though, it is the holiday season and Transcend knows most MTs will not want to switch jobs currently and be without a paycheck for a couple of weeks. It would seem they have you over a barrel for the next few weeks if you decide to stay and accept the cut in line rate, especially if you depend on them as your only source of income. By the way, when I say you, I mean general you, not you personally.

Transcend's entire business practices as a whole disgust me. I'm glad I never took my friend's advice a year ago and applied with them and stayed put with my current position.

I sincerely wish the best to all MTs facing this new crap.

Undoubtedly the suits will tell you that it works better for them to keep more of the money for themselves. Come on people, this is corporate America. They will nickel and dime you to death. I am willing to bet that this is just the start of it.

I've been doing this over 40 years, working only 16 hours a week now and can cut it very well but am still not happy.  I have a skill and would like to continue to use it but am I supposed to be happy earning half of what I made 20 years ago?  Am I supposed to be happy with a policy of 5 unpaid days off a year after working 40 years?  Am I supposed to be happy being told I will never get a raise?  Am I supposed to be happy being held to a ridiculous standard of 99.5% acc ...

Had PTO saved up to take time off at X-mas but because of NJA yesterday and today, I have had to burn it.  Maddening.  Can never take a vacation because you have to save the time to cover the Thanksgiving and Christmas NJA.  As it stands now, I don't think I will have enough to cover the days I asked off at Christmas.  How incredibly sad that when there is no work for us that we get penalized by having to use our PTO to cover.  Happy holidays. I know this is a little thing, but after 2 years it is a little annoying.  Why do you ask MTs to look up physician names and addresses that are not in the database and to send to QA?  You NEVER enter them into the system, not once.  I have kept a list of physician names and addresses that we frequently use that are not in the database.  I send them to QA every time, requesting that they be entered.  I wonder what your response would be if we sent it blank?  Just a l ...

After 15 years, I finally had left MQ to go to DSG, then got thrown back into MQ/MM 2 years later when they bought out DSGs medical transcription department. I left MT completely after that fiasco. If anyone who works for TTS can help me, I would appreciate it. I've been there 3 weeks and I am actually happy working there. But .... I am super paranoid about sticking to 8 hours per day because I was warned that OT is not allowed unless expressly offered and only after I am off the orientation team and on the production team.  So I am being really careful about my active platform time but I wonder if I'm being TOO careful.
