without somebody jumping on you or making fun of you or being spelling police or telling you that's the way business operates so suck it up or go somewhere else.

I noticed that too. Tells you far more about that flamer and how pitiful their existence must be. More often than not, those mean responses they post do not correctly reflect what the original poster stated. Tells you a lot about someone that will twist their response to that degree. Have only been on here a very short time, but can easily spot the "flamers". Sad too, that they say such mean, insulting things and then are so insulted themselves when people defend themselves or someone rales against them. Really shows you a lot about their character or lack thereof. I have purposed to search out those with positive things to add to my life and have "met" some pretty nice people so far in that pursuit. Hope you find the same. :)

I think a lot of it is tension with the lack of work, holidays, etc., but most of us are in the same boat, so why make people feel worse by being mean? Don't be discouraged, a few bad apples don't spoil the whole bunch. Just smile and tell them to have a nice day...gets them everytime! LOL!

I, too, have been disappointed with regard to these policies. Sometimes you want to be able to give someone a leg up on something, and instead you get reported.

I think there is a difference between picking on someone for an inadvertent typo and trying to share a bit of wisdom -- and I don't think it's not too hard to tell the difference.

I agree, it seems people are hiding behind not being identified. Looks like that gives some people permission to be mean.

I used to think the same thing, but trust me, if you use a consistent name on here, and if you post something that someone doesn't like, you will get "followers" who respond to every post you make in the future just to start an argument and/or be nasty. Also, they will try to report every post you make to try to get your posts removed or get you banned... and sometimes it works, too.

IMO... stay anon if you want to have any decent discussions on here (without being banned), or just limit the moniker to 1 posting thread at a time.

I know this is a little thing, but after 2 years it is a little annoying. Why do you ask MTs to look up physician names and addresses that are not in the database and to send to QA? It's crazy to me that people do not even know what medical transcriptionists do most of the time. When people ask me what I do and I tell them transcription, it never fails that they say "What is that?" I tell them that I type what the doctor says and they say, "What does he say?" Ooops, I accidentally posted this under a reply to something else, so here goes again. Any ex-DSG people here? After 15 years, I finally had left MQ to go to DSG, then got thrown back into MQ/MM 2 years later when they bought out DSGs medical transcription department. I left MT completely after that fiasco. I am super paranoid about sticking to 8 hours per day because I was warned that OT is not allowed unless expressly offered and only after I am off the orientation team and on the production team. Has anyone ever thought of contacting the national media to let the nation as a whole know where their medical records are going and who is doing them and that fact that people have died because of wrong medications, etc.?
