As my ship was sinking (I previously did IC work for four different doctors), I took a job for a small MTSO as an IC and they told me what hours I had to work. I did not know they were not allowed to do that. They eventually sunk as EPIC took over the local hospital, and are not out of business. I think you're right, some people don't know, and some people want to continue to work at home, so they accept the hours.
