they might be asking for a date with both the IRS and the Labor Board. They are playing with fire. I had a friend who had this happen to her. The small MTSO she had signed on with (this was several years ago) suddenly began requiring certain hours, etc., yet classifying her as an IC, which meant that her expenses were higher. Long story short: She went to the IRS, they pounced on the MTSO and the MTSO never did that trick again. I would recommend that if someone is seriously interested in that job, they get all the information they can about it and then run that by the IRS and the Labor Board to see if it flies with them.
