Opinions on M-Modal versus Nuance. - NTS MT

Working right now for NTS (lots of dirt here), but would like some honest opinions on M-Modal.  They sent me an email wanting me to test (as i am sure they have many others), and today I got an automated phone call from them.  Anyone know if this would be an improvement?  Thanks!

I've already given notice, so I'll tell you what I think, even though I haven't worked for Nuance. Consider the following:

Are you required to fill in ADT information, read the client profile (sometimes more than once a day because seriously, they change them that often), research any terms or names you need, and check your email, even on your day off, ON YOUR OWN TIME?

We have countless things we are required to do, yet not only are we not paid for doing it, we are encouraged to do it on our OWN TIME, even though we aren't paid by the hour. And what's worse is that we put up with it.

I don't know how things are at Nuance, but I can't imagine it's any worse than this place.

The bigger question for me is the difference in QA. What is QA requirment? How hard is it to maintain (is QA on a mission from God to ensure you fail--like at Nuance)?

Wow, sounds like they are run by the same management. I kind of figured there was a catch since they are trying so hard to recruit. Out of the frying pan, into the fire. Thanks for the info!

is marginally better than Nuance. I've never worked for Nuance, but sounds like they have a hocus pocus bonus program with hateful QA. It really comes down to which CCM (client care manager)/QC (quality coach) you get. My CCM pretty much leaves me alone and my (latest) QC is pretty helpful. HTH

The QA here can be one of three ways: Insane QA on a trip and marks everything and anything, (sometimes even going against the client profile), or you never get QA feedback, or you get somewhere in the middle. You are held to 99% accuracy. You will get 90% or more ASR at 4 cpl. On average, I do about 15 accounts per day (hardly 2 reports from the same facility in a row), but that can easily raise up when work is low and then will roll into other regions work as well. You either get an amazing CCM or one that makes you wish you were never an MT, or something in between. The changes around here are endless, and very soon about to change again with the recent merger.

It seriously is like playing Russian Roulette.

Just my opinion,,Keystrokes was great for a while, right till I caught their QA in a blatant lie...Kicking me off an account for incorrect patient info, when I put a QA marker saying this is very ambigious, please verify before sending through..Got her fired, but after that was sick of the garbage..clicky as all get out..So I kind of think it comes down to which program works the best for ya..just my 2 cents, thats all I have left nowadays..

I've read a couple other posts saying how great they were at first, then they turn on you. I think I'll just save myself the trouble and go work at Wal-Mart.

I was going along fine, they paid better..My first boss was FANTASTIC..All the sudden all the trainers and managers left. Got a new boss, dumb as a rock. I should say account manage.. I had a couple of times asked this particular QA girl what to do in certain situations..She told me, well once it was wrong and it apparently major wrong..Was talking to the manage and she wanted to know who told me,,I lied and said I forgot, but let her know, hey I saved your hind..She thanked me one side up and down...She would have lost her job then, I just got reamed for doing something wrong..Then I get an email at 10:30 at night..Due to a critical error, you have been removed from you account..Normally this is grounds for firing but we will just put you on a different account..Well needless to say all night Im going huh what the heck..Then I looked at my QA log I keep and after 2 DAYS finally got hold of my manager..find out what was wrong..I tell her no way..I put a QA note in there to check this for accuracy it was very confusing..Ok we will check it out..So I immediately go into documanage and check the job,,note on the front screen it says QA date and time mentioned that to the boss..She comes back and gives me a listing showing it never went through QA..I go back and that initial notation for QA time is gone..So now Im on a rampage..I call back boss wouldnt return the call..Finally got hold of Human Resources...Had her pull up the record and I said wait before you say anything so and so reviewed that QA report? And she goes yea how do you know..Well because I know for a fact she was working that day cause I had spoken to her..Im a retired cop we very rarely allowed the criminals to investigate the crimes, how come the head of QA didnt review this, bad business practices..And said you know, I covered her before to keep her from losing her job, I am one of how many? You need to check this further..they placated me, Im a big girl dont play games with me..If they had said you were right Im sorry, I would have stayed...I found out she was fired from another QA girl I made friends with...We were on Instant message so you could get immediate answers..wish they would do that here...So I came back here and just stopped working, made sure I took all my PTO and faded away..Then after 2 weeks when they started looking for me I told them I quit..

For me anyway,,I am good at my job I figure they lost out..I did hear that there is a lot of nepotism within that company..There were several times pay was not on time, due to "changing banks" no way to check that..I went there because I had spoken to the owner a while back about stopping outsourcing in the country...they dont outsource. When I spoke to the owner about my problem she said nothing,,,other then "you were actually put on a better account" Well lady thats your opinion, my account was by far the hardest in the company, but I loved it, had my shortcuts made and you put me to where I had to start over and we all know how that is..And she said since you quit without notice dont ever reapply..Told her I would NEVER apply to work for a company that operates like that..I have a bit more pride then that..Mmodal has its problems but I have never been treated that poorly..

regarding those "automated" phone calls, I've gotten several. problem is . . . I ALREADY work for them! In other words, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing so, my advice is STAY AWAY!

I hate that so many have a hard time and I believe them, but I lvove my job here. It all depends on your CCM and QA. It also depends what region you get in and if you do acute care or a speciality. Just like any other job, there are problems everywhere. I would not change jobs now at all.

Honestly, I used to love my job too. I got an in-house job and left my MTSO but then that job ended and I found myself back in this world.

I landed at Nuance and it is horrific. I feel like crying at the end of each day and just want out.

It really is nice to know someone is actually being treated with some amount of respect in this industry.

Listen, I really do not like this forum because of all the mudslinging. Back in my day, we were happy to get a job. However, having worked for both companies and without slinging mud,I would have to say personally that I love M*Modal and would have to be given a huge incentive to go back to Nuance because at the end of the day, M*Modal is just a more effeciently run company and in my opinion, they have a superior platform that is easy to learn. They pay for things they want you to have. Nuance expects you to pay for them yourself. That's my honest opinion. I hope it helps. Nuance helped me get started, but M*Modal is providing me with more experience and yes all you complainers a better pay check. It is really going to depend upon your preference. If you need a lot of help and feedback, you might want to go to Nuance where you can get that from the messenger they ask their employees to log into when you go to work. However, if you can pretty much go it alone then most definitely go with M*Modal. You will be provided with a computer, Benchmark KB and they offer quite a few incentives throughout the year which I did not get at Nuance. It might be different now. Your boss and quality coach will return your emails at M*Modal. Also, at M*Modal you can speak to the tech department 24/7 if you have a problem with your computer,not necessarily so at Nuance. If I had listened to this negative forum, I would have never taken the job at Nuance when I did it was called Focus and I was newbie and they had an entry-level program. I am very grateful for that. Also, if I had listened to this forum I would never taken the job at M*Modal, and love it there and do not plan on leaving anytime soon. When I had to change accounts at M*Modal because we lost the account, they company compensated us by giving us a bonus. You would never get that over at Nuance. It's better than it use to be when I was there, though I do know that. Still for me the pros as for a move to M*Modal for me far outweigh the cons compared to working for Nuance. However, if you are lucky enough to be getting paid an hourly rate at Nuance, than I think that would probably be the better choice. Good Luck!!!!

I'm in shock about all the layoffs at M*Modal this morning!  I'm sure everyone else is too.  I'm scared/worried the same thing might happen to Nuance now.  I see job postings all the time for both companies.  It's crazy how they hire all these people and then layoff a bunch of people.  I'm curious to know how many people in total got laid off.  Does anyone else see this coming at Nuance?  ...

I've reached the point where I'll work for almost any company, even M-Modal or Nuance, if it means I can get a steady paycheck.  My current company is going down the tubes fast.  I've hung in here as long as I possibly can, but I think it's an exercise in futility.  Does anyone at M-Modal or Nuance have any positive experiences, or is it really as bad as all the posts make it sound?  Surely there must be "something" good, or they wouldn't have so man ...

MT Pay Versus What Nuance Charges Per Line For Hospital Reports

Does anyone know or maybe even make an educated guess...how much a hospital might pay per line to have Nuance do their reports?  We are guessing somewhere .12 to .15 upwards to .20/line.   Of course they are claiming that this will save them all sorts of money and we'd like to know if they are really going to save as much as they think they are.  Oh...and did I mention that Nuance said they wouldn't be sending anything to anyone who didn't speak English ou ...
