we did not have access to their "technologies" (speech recognition) and had to straight type (ST)the work. We are paid by a grid and ST is worth more than editing due to the increased time it takes to complete. I personally lost out on significant earnings with the hourly pay is it based on my edited (lower base pay) lines and thought the 1.5x and 2x incentives were to offset the ST rate and shift differential we could have earned (most of us work outside of 9-5, and at least 1 weekend day). As others have already alluded to, the memo was addressed to all US MLS, and at least some supervisors copy/pasted the info to their MLS, so they obviously were fooled by the wording as well.
