You can't tell me VD doesn't know what's going on, and you can't tell me JT and LL doesn't know what's going on either. When the third shift supervisor job came up again, I noticed on the job posting it said nothing about a "stipend" in addition to what ever you transcribe, so I'm thinking management may have told them to do this as a trade-off. Either way, it is WRONG and very unethical and definitely NOT fair for the rest of the MTs to be stuck with all of the harder stuff and then to be chewed out if you have to send things to QA.
