I have been in the MT industry for many years now and I have worked in MANY supervisor, lead, and even QA roles for many different companies and I can tell you for a FACT that this insane amount of cherry picking done by leads/supervisors is NOT the norm. I don't know where in the hell you have been working, but at every single other MTSO that I have worked for, this was NOT allowed whatsoever. There was ZERO tolerance for it. Everyone worked on a first in/first out basis, even leads. The only time leads were allowed to assign themselves a job was if there was a stat that needed to be done and no one else was available to do it. In fact, I know of a couple of leads who got written up for constant cherrypicking. You may want to get your facts straight. You don't sound very experienced.
