Why bother with exit interviews - old and burned out

Posted: Dec 06, 2013

when all they have to do is read this board to find out why MTs are leaving?  Not that I expect any logical actions from them but since they are paying an outside company to do the interviews, this is an added expense.

Exit Interview - happy now

Got the call too. I have worked for them for over 20 years from the beginning. I was a very conscientious worker...but couldn't take the stress anymore with all those stupid client profiles. When asked what they could do better, I said to tell all their clients they all had to use the same format if they wanted their work done faster with better quality. The girl laughed and said she heard that many times already. I cared too much about quality, my production suffered and was lucky if I made minimum wage. I have been interviewing with doctor offices for a week now and believe me...there are jobs out there for better pay and less stress! I just had to prove that to myself :-)

and that's the final straw, when they laugh about it. - they know very well what they are doing SM

and they dont care. I believe that's the whole goal of both these companies, to sell as much speech wreck as they can, drive the company in the ground and walk away counting their money.

They only follow so many legal protocols to cover their *** and tweak those protocols so they don't have to do anything about the perfectly legitimate complaints.

That's what's going to happen down the road, wait and see. May take a very long time, but both these companies are going to tank when there's no more suckers left to buy the voice wreck program.

Exit Interview - EX-MT

When I worked for MQ, I quit on the spot; no notice, but I did e-mail my supervisor whatever the initials were back then and told her I couldn't take it any more; never heard one word back from her. Just got some nasty call about returning my equipment. The only thing I wish I would have done, was just turn off the computer and not say a word to her. I did have another job when I did this by the way. Again, they try to act like a "real" company, but they aren't. Everything is a smoke screen and the MTs get nothing, but abuse.

Whenever I'm asked to do an exit interview - (sm) - Snooze, You Lose

I simply tell them I don't do exit interviews. When pressed on why that is, I tell them in all honesty that if they truly cared what their workers thought, they'd ask their opinion while there were STILL EMPLOYED, not after the fact.

Whenever I'm asked - mmmt

Hmmmm, sounds like you've been through quite a few exit interviews - any reason for that?

Several Of Us Had Interviews Today Or Recently...How Did You Do? Here's My Experience...
May 30, 2013

I had an overall positive experience; however, I wish I'd said a couple things more smoothly and thought of a couple more questions to ask (I did ask a few).  Still, for my first interview in years, I think it went well, and I sold myself pretty strongly, too.  I thought I'd share the main questions that came up and how I attempted to handle them:  Questions I got were (these aren't in order): Why do you think you'll be a fit?  (I said I was "uni ...

Do You Even Bother.....

giving a 2-week notice? I am so sick of sitting and waiting for work that doesn't come. I have begged and begged for more work (and there are several late/heavy accounts just sitting there) and still get NOTHING. Would you even bother giving 2 weeks' notice or would you just quit signing in? ...

Exit Strategy
Nov 26, 2013

I've pursued this line of work more out of obligation rather than choice. I know where the wind is blowing, so I'm going back to school for my Associate of Applied Science. But I'll have to juggle work and school for 2 years. I currently work an "Indian QA" company. I had a rocky start, such that I had considered quitting and I take my chances with another company. I wisely stuck with them (after advice from this very board), and it's a good thing I did, because the seemin ...

Don't Bother With MedGarde!!!
Jan 26, 2011

In December I was contacted by MedGarde's recruiter to set up a telephone interview.  This was after I had submitted my resume and tested for them.  The interview was 45 minutes and consisted of multiple questions regarding my education, experience, etc.  Then there was a verbal test on computer knowledge.  Then there was a verbal test on medical terminology knowledge.  Afterwards, she thanked me and told me she would be in contact with me by early next week.  ...

Should I Bother Telling My TSM About This...
May 08, 2015

In FIESA I was corrected for, but didn't lose points for,  leaving out the word "of" after the word "off," as I learned in transcription school that it is not correct to say "off of," you just need to say "off." Should I tell my TSM to mention this to the QA person or does no one care since I didn't lose any points? I have also seen blanks in reports that this QA person added to my reports for words that I know I typed correctly because I am very familiar with my accounts and have ...

Exit Interview / Survey
Jul 07, 2012

A couple of days ago I received a phone call that I guess was an exit interview/survey. They asked questions on very specific subjects, which led me to believe the company knows where it's failing. The questions were multiple choice (satisfied, dissatisfied, etc.), and asked specifically about CCM communication, benefits/PTO, line count with straight typing vs VR, and if there were any issues considered to be unethical or illegal. For what good it did, I did let them know how dissatisfie ...

Had My Exit Interview Today
Aug 05, 2013

Had my exit interview today and was BRUTALLY honest.  I would like to think I helped the rest of ya all still in this business, but probably not.  I explained in very frank words that twice working for Medqust/M Modal was two times too many.  On the question of how M Modal can maintain a low turnaround in employees and make working with them better, I went with STOP off-shoring all the work, STOP the NJA, STOP the threats of firing with a failed audit.  Keeping the work in the US will solve ...

Why Bother Sending An Email
Sep 03, 2012

I just wonder, as an MT we are REQUIRED to respond IMMEDIATELY to an email that they say "respond immediately" to.  But if in that email it states any questions, please let us know and you email them back with questions and now 2 weeks later, you still have not received an answer back.  Why is it that we are required to immediately respond and have emailed the same question now a few times and yet no answer from their side.  I wonder how this makes their side of the company run so ...

Exit Interview Phone Call Today
Aug 06, 2012

I left MM a few weeks ago and today got a call. They asked lots of questions about how satisfied or unsatisfied I was with MM and I answered them all as honestly as I could. When they asked if I thought any of their practices were illegal or unethical...I told them that hiring people to work for you and then expecting them to use their PTO or go without pay when there was not enough work was extremely unethical. Especially when you have many MTs with NJA daily and others with mandatory OT someti ...

Medquist's "exit And Disposal" Plan
May 30, 2010

I found this on Medquist's latest quarterly financial report. It's pretty self-explanatory, although I think it is probably for the suits, as we MT/MEs don't get any severance pay. Do I Bother Applying For "no Newbies" Jobs?
Nov 08, 2009

I've just finished MT school and am starting to apply for jobs while I wait for my final grade.  There is nothing in town, I live in a small town and the hospital fired all their MTs, so I need to work from home. But every ad I see says no newbies AND many say school doesn't count for experience. Of course, my school promised that most places did count our training as 2 years' experience, but I have this sinking suspicion they lied. Do I go ahead and apply for these jobs, or ...
