In December I was contacted by MedGarde's recruiter to set up a telephone interview. This was after I had submitted my resume and tested for them. The interview was 45 minutes and consisted of multiple questions regarding my education, experience, etc. Then there was a verbal test on computer knowledge. Then there was a verbal test on medical terminology knowledge. Afterwards, she thanked me and told me she would be in contact with me by early next week. In the meantime I was offered another job, so I accepted that job and emailed MedGarde and told her that I had accepted another offer. Two weeks later the job I had accepted ran out of work, so hoping that I still had a chance with MedGarde I contacted the recruiter again. She answered me immediately and said yes, I did, and to furnish them with 3 references. I had to go to the website and fill out another application but this time furnish the references. I did so. A week later, I had heard nothing, so I contacted her again asking if she had contacted my references. She said she had been very busy but was going to get to it soon. Finally, after another week, she indicated that my references had been spoken to and they had all given me a glowing recommendation. She then said "her supervisor" had to go through all the information and he would be "on vacation" until January 10. More waiting. On January 12 she called me and offered me a position, which I gladly accepted. She said the contract and other paperwork would be emailed to me the next day. When I did not receive it the next day, I contacted her again and she then told me her "supervisor" was out of the office and the office would be closed on Martin Luther King day, so the papers could not be sent until January 18. On January 18, I received nothing. I emailed her and called her but did not get a reply. On January 19, I again phoned her and she returned my call later that day, stating that she would have to get final approval from her supervisor and then could email the paperwork. I then asked her when my start date was and she proceeded to tell me that after I signed and returned my contract, etc. then they would email me the software to download. After the software was in my computer, then they would send me via Express mail the tutorial disks to train on. Then after that, I was to call the office and let them know that I was done training. I couldn't believe the long, drawn out process this woman was putting me through, but I agreed to wait for my contract to arrive that evening. At 7 pm I saw her email come through and was sure that I had finally received my paperwork. Instead, it was a note from her saying I am sorry but my supervisor left today before I could get things together. I will be in touch tomorrow. That absolutely did it!! I emailed her back and told her that I was no longer interested in working for MedGarde and the reasons why. I did a background check on them and her so-called supervisor is the owner and CEO. I do not think another person works in that office. If they did, why put hiring on hold while someone in charge is on vacation? Besides, this company isn't gold plated. First you do not get paid for spaces. The pay scale is incentive with 10 cpl being for 6,000 lines or over per week, and that figures out to be about 8.5 cpl for VBC. Next, you lease their software for $5 per week, so in essence you are paying for the 24-hour tech support help desk that they refer you to, without them having to pay anything for the use of the software or support. Then, you also pay $3 per each $100 of your paycheck which is processed through PayPal, and this is not direct deposit. You have to have a PayPal account and then go in and instruct PayPal to transfer the money to your bank account. All of that hassle and then they take weeks/months to hire MTs. I accepted another job, signed the contract that morning and started working that afternoon. That is how it should be. I felt I was just strung along throughout this whole incident and everyone else who posted down below has been as well. What a jerk outfit!! Glad I found out now instead of later.
