Is the workflow any better at Synernet ? should I bother applying ? - nm

Don't think Synernet is hiring anyways - as there have been staff reductions

I will be too, if I can find somewhere that doesn't run out all the time - Skimpy Christmas

I know work slows around the holiday times, but I was hired less than a year ago at Synernet and had a hard time deciding if I was going to take the job or not, but because of them boasting on how they rarely ever ran out of work and IF they did it was never for long, I decided to take the job despite the low pay. I guess they over hired, like it seems most of them do when they panic if the workload picks up during the summer and go on a crazy hiring spree. This profession really makes me sad. :(
Same with me - Time to go

I also was very hesitant to take the job when I found out how low the pay rate was, but I decided to give it a go as I was promised that I would never have to worry about running out of work and would make plenty of money, but that sure hasn't been the case lately. I'm currently in the process of exploring other opportunities, and as soon as I can find something decent, I'll be putting in my notice as well. It's sad, but it's what I'm going to have to do. I can't be making only 7 cpl on top of frequently running out of work. We all have bills to pay and this just isn't cutting it.
I turned in notice too. Guess if several of us leave, will leave more work for - the rest -- hate to go but I gotta eat !

Doubtful -- they'll probably just turn on their overhiring machine again. nm - Sad

Don't Bother Applying To Superior Global Solutions May 20, 2014I just received a call from the CEO stating that they were "making tough decisions" and I was to finish what I was doing and then I was laid off. Do I Bother Applying For "no Newbies" Jobs? Nov 08, 2009I've just finished MT school and am starting to apply for jobs while I wait for my final grade. There is nothing in town, I live in a small town and the hospital fired all their MTs, so I need to work from home. But every ad I see says no newbies AND many say school doesn't count for experience. Of course, my school promised that most places did count our training as 2 years' experience, but I have this sinking suspicion they lied.
Do I go ahead and apply for these jobs, or ...
Thinking Of Applying At Synernet. How Often Do They... May 15, 2014I see they adverstise quite often and I don't mind working 2nd or 3rd shift. I just had a few questions first before I apply.
1. How often do they give raises?
2. How good is the insurance, meaning, is there a very high deductible?
3. Do they leave you alone as long as you are doing your job?
4. Is there room for advancement?
5. Do they contribute to retirement?
Thank you all in advance! ...

Thinking Of Applying At Synernet, Plenty Of Work?? Nov 12, 2013I am so tired of trying to find that "perfect" fit for a company to work for. Good companies are so few and far between and I just want to finally find a fair place. It seems like the only companies left are MModal and Nuance and I wouldn't work for them for anything. So, before I apply for Synernet, how are things there?
Thanks :) ...

Workflow Team? Sep 10, 2014Anyone know if we are still supposed to be calling the workflow team when there is no work available? It's not listed under the work availability policy as something you need to do, and then when you call, you are put on hold and it states the hours are "4 p.m. to 9:30 a.m." Is this Eastern Time, Central Time, Pacific Time??? Frustrating to say the least. ...
OK ... What? New Workflow Managers Will Be Overseeing Over *400* Employees Nov 06, 2014If we think things are bad NOW with NJA and work flow ... just wait. Each Workflow Manager has only been given ONE "POD" so far but as of this week, they will each be given a SECOND POD to oversee, each POD having at least 200 employees. The Workflow Manager that I've been assigned to told me on the phone this morning that her mind-bending work load is about to DOUBLE and that she will be overseeing 400 employees. She said she hopes she didn't make a big mistake by ta ...
Do You Even Bother..... Jun 12, 2012giving a 2-week notice? I am so sick of sitting and waiting for work that doesn't come. I have begged and begged for more work (and there are several late/heavy accounts just sitting there) and still get NOTHING. Would you even bother giving 2 weeks' notice or would you just quit signing in? ...
Why Did They Bother Jul 23, 2013Seriously. What did they lay off like 12 people? What good did that do, really? It didn't do any good and hurt the ones laid off. ...
Does It Bother Anyone Else.... Dec 09, 2013that our supervisors never question how someone with 10-15 plus years experience could leave such nonsensical and totally stupid words and phrases in our dictation? Of course, this is being dinged by offshore. And, I swear I remember changing or deleting a lot of these, but there they are back again after sending. ...

Don't Bother With MedGarde!!! Jan 26, 2011In December I was contacted by MedGarde's recruiter to set up a telephone interview. This was after I had submitted my resume and tested for them. The interview was 45 minutes and consisted of multiple questions regarding my education, experience, etc. Then there was a verbal test on computer knowledge. Then there was a verbal test on medical terminology knowledge. Afterwards, she thanked me and told me she would be in contact with me by early next week. ...
Should I Bother Telling My TSM About This... May 08, 2015In FIESA I was corrected for, but didn't lose points for, leaving out the word "of" after the word "off," as I learned in transcription school that it is not correct to say "off of," you just need to say "off." Should I tell my TSM to mention this to the QA person or does no one care since I didn't lose any points? I have also seen blanks in reports that this QA person added to my reports for words that I know I typed correctly because I am very familiar with my accounts and have ...
Why Bother Sending An Email Sep 03, 2012I just wonder, as an MT we are REQUIRED to respond IMMEDIATELY to an email that they say "respond immediately" to. But if in that email it states any questions, please let us know and you email them back with questions and now 2 weeks later, you still have not received an answer back. Why is it that we are required to immediately respond and have emailed the same question now a few times and yet no answer from their side. I wonder how this makes their side of the company run so ...
Why Bother With Exit Interviews Dec 06, 2013when all they have to do is read this board to find out why MTs are leaving? Not that I expect any logical actions from them but since they are paying an outside company to do the interviews, this is an added expense. ...
It Wouldn't Bother Me To Get Accounts From All Oct 28, 2014They would just make the formats for all work types the SAME across the board. It's NOT the changing of dictators/facilities that is so difficult...it's the having to check 1 thousand different sets of account rules!!! UGH! ...
Should I Even Bother Giving 2 Weeks Notice? Sep 05, 2014Really getting fed up....virtually NO work since Labor Day....looking elsewhere and don't want to burn any bridges, but what's the point of giving M*Modal 2 weeks notice if there's no work to type and I could actually be making money at a new job in that 2 weeks' time?! ...

Applying For Job Jan 10, 2011Okay, this is somewhat of a strange situation. I have been looking for a job in the field that I was in prior to becoming an MT 11 years ago, which would be a full-time position with benefits. Currently I am IC. I had lost my previous job due to downsizing and the office/company that I worked for basically closed it's Wisconsin branch except for a handful of employees. I just found out that one of the employees at this small Wisconsin branch of the company that I use ...
When Applying For A New MT Job... Dec 27, 2013...and taking a transcription test, is it wise to type verbatim even if there are errors or try to clean it up? I'm an older MT and haven't applied in a while. I'd just like to know an opinion out there. I'd hate to not get a job because I "cleaned" something up when I should not have done so. TIA. ...
After Applying For Jobs.... Oct 20, 2009How long should I wait after applying for a job before following up?
And what's the best way to followup? Also, I'd like to ask what caused them to overlook my resume if that's the case.
BUT would that just make me even more of a pest and make them Black-ball me?!
I HATE WAITING!!! Can you tell? :) ...

Done Applying For MT Jobs Apr 10, 2012I need to write this for my own sake. I can no longer apply or test for these company positions. I am being rejected in one way or another by all of them. I have done this for going on 30 years. I can't take it anymore. It is so very very painful to deal with this. Applying For Positions Jul 21, 2013Does anyone ever simply e-mail a resume to a company rather than completing the long, drawn out application they want filled out when you click the link to apply? I have 30 years of experience and do not want to spend time filling in information about every job I have ever had and why I left, where I went to school, emergency contacts, etc on their application, only to never hear from the company and would prefer just to e-mail a resume with a cover letter. Does anyone ever do this? ...
