Just a few thoughts from an escapee. You can collect unemployment if you quit due to health reasons, and save every single email relating to your health, missed days, OOW, subsequent depression, anxiety, etc, etc.

Also, you can file for Trade Adjustment Assistance (who better than we?), but you do need 3 people from the same company willing to do it. How to accomplish this with the Nuance trolls frequenting this board is a challenge.

I've already cut down my hours, and they know why, so - giving my name here should not be a problem.

BUT, before I do, I want everyone on here to help me play devil's advocate. What are the potential downsides to expsoing our names or initials for those of us who have reduced our employment or quit altogether due to being out of work, essentially unemployed or underemployed to the point of filing for unemployment due to offshoring? Someone, anyone, come on, let's truly problen-solve here and get this started. WE, if anyone is, should be eligible for that foreign trade assistance!

Another option, I think your local unemployment - rep can also file a petition for TAA

after explaining your reasons for applying, having no work, etc. There are articles out there regarding Nuance and offshore workers, so it's not as though it is a secret. My TL told me (and I saved the IMs) that my accts I had worked on for a LONG time were going completely to India. That right there, put me out of a full-time workload. Start applying for partial unemployment and telling them (UI) why there is the need to file.

Does anyone know how much India makes per line for voice and straight typing. It would be interesting to know how much they are getting.

I don't know for sure about India but in the Philippines they get salary and everything that goes with it: Sick leave, vacation, severance pay, etc. Over there it is like it was here many,many years ago. It is because their peso is something like 44/1 to our dollar. Same idea in India. I heard it from someone who just came over and almost took such a job in the P. doing MT.

If you google some of their job postings you will - find anywhere from 0.0150 to 0.003 cpl

Much cheaper and to provide benefits there is MUCH cheaper also.

According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

It's crazy to me that people do not even know what medical transcriptionists do most of the time. When people ask me what I do and I tell them transcription, it never fails that they say "What is that?" I tell them that I type what the doctor says and they say, "What does he say?" Ooops, I accidentally posted this under a reply to something else, so here goes again. Any ex-DSG people here? After 15 years, I finally had left MQ to go to DSG, then got thrown back into MQ/MM 2 years later when they bought out DSGs medical transcription department. I left MT completely after that fiasco.
