MQ advertising for more people ;( - ticked off

which is no big deal, except that they can't seem to give me as much work as I want. Same office going off and hiring more people and yet I've repeatedly asked for more work. I've been trained on FOUR accounts, and then as each one peters out, they pull me off and put me on another one, and the cycle repeats.

Not only am I getting sick and tired of constantly training on a new hospital, but I'm getting sick and tired of constantly getting no jobs available. GRRRR.

Honestly, this company has been this way for years. Probably want to get rid of people like me who has been at it for too many years and hire newbies who can make less. After awhile, it just gets old and I have gotten so numb to it. I went through the anger of wanting to through the computer out the window and the next step is the crying and self-pity mode, and then an "I do not care attitude" and then finally the numb mode. You either learn to tolerate it or move on by getting a new job.

I feel your pain.

I started transcribing in my 20s. I'm now in my 40s. I worked for MQ part-time about 8 years ago. Something to fill in where my full-time job was lacking. I was excited as I'm not one to jump from job to job. So at that point I probably had about 15 years under my belt and had experience with all work types. After my 3-month probation I had to walk away as I could not make their minimum line count for part-time (totally shocked). Well, I guess the reason for that is that they tinkered with everyone's line counts. Great, strike one!.

I found a small company to work for. Everything was going great. We had 2 huge hospital accounts. Work was flowing even in the slower months. I was never out of work ever.

One day the boss calls and tells us that MQ took one of our hospitals (that my boss had for lots of years). Strike
two!

One year later, the boss calls us again and said that MQ took our last remaining hospital. Strike three!

I would have figured that all the MQ MTs must be fat and happy (at least with the 2 accounts we lost to them).

I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling with getting work because you shouldn't be, the same with me.

I probably know this question but does MQ offshore your accounts?

While searching for another transcription job, I came across a company I had never heard of before, "The Right Thing" based in "Findley, Ohio." I thought this could be great, instead of staying with MedQuist offering the "Wrong Thing." I decided to look into it, and it was actually a Medquist advertisement! Don't say you weren't warned. They are nitpicking micromanagers who QA you to death on EVERYTHING, every comma, period. And they do it with an edge of attitude. I took their test and passed. I emailed them several times. They contacted me once and said they were filling full time positions first (I want part time to begin because I want to see before I commit to 40 hours a week if I can make money).
