kaspersky antivirus not working - toosie

Any one else having problems with the antivirus not working. I have had them work on the computer. I have virus coverage but it does not update anymore like it used to every day. Had a file deleted that supposedly blocked it. I just hate calling those techs again and trying to communicate.

Yes, I am having the same problem. I sent a Remedy ticket yesterday regarding this and have not had a call back as yet. Not sure what the problem is! I haven't called into tech support either. I'll wait to hear from them.

I had the same problem. I had to click to have it manually update. It took about 3 hours, but then the warning went away and everything seems to be fine now. I clicked on the little message flag on the bottom bar of my screen and clicked for it to update.

I too was able to manually update it but it took a while for "update" to be bold in order to click it and I had to do it every time I turned on my computer. Yesterday a technician got on my computer and deleted a Windows update of some sort. I was getting messages like license invalid, databases corrupt and also on startup my computer was doing a 2-minute disc check. Hard to believe one update was causing these problems but it seems okay now. Just wonder how necessary that deleted update was/is? I still have problems with Ipswitch though. I have to send through the Windows Live, not the login way, or it never will go the recipient(s). Also cannot believe, I was told by other techs(I've talked to a few in the past week) that I am not allowed to change my password--they have to do it for me. Amazing!

Interesting they told you that you couldn't change a password. I get reminders whenever its time to change my password for the computer, Fluency, for my time card etc. I know the one time I had to call IT recently (and I dreaded it and put it off as long as possible) they "played" around with my computer for 40 minutes, couldn't fix the problem, escalated it to domestic and when the US IT called back within 3 minutes the problem was fixed.

Just to clarify, they said I cannot change the password for Ipswitch,Remedy and DocQmanage(all 3 have the same), but I can change Fluency and the computer startup password. STILL, I agree it is strange. My son works as a computer programmer for a very good company and he said this is a very major security breach. But what am I to do? I have tried on my own to change it and it does not allow me (can't click...says "password change not enabled" or something like that). So you are able to change your email password? Maybe I should talk to an American tech and see if he says the same thing. I don't do anything personal in the work email but still feels weird knowing they can go in and read everything. Very Big Brother-ish and un-American.

First off I have a company computer and I have submitted tickets regarding Kaspersky being disabled. An ILP tech remoted in and said he fixed it but he didn't. I still get the same message. Now when I start up my computer every day it runs a disk check. I give up. Mmodal gets what they pay for. They are trying to save money on cheap tech. My computer will eventually crash and Mmodal will have to pay me downtime and supply me with a new computer. Then how much money will they have saved?

Not sure if you read my post, but I had the same problem. The ILP tech remotely uninstalled an update (one of those automatic Microsoft updates we get frequently) and right after that the problem with Kaspersky and the disk check resolved. But curious what that update was and why it was put in, in the first place. Time will tell. Are YOU able to change your Ipswitch password on your own? Just curious. I am not able to (wrote about this in another post). Try asking for an American technician.

I do know however after the system crash on Wednesday I needed tech to reset my account because it said someone else was logged into my account. I had the rudest ILP tech who reset my account and changed the password (the American techs never changed the password) and then got mad at me when I couldn't get in. I asked him what the hell he did to my account and asked for a supervisor. Yep, another ILP tech. He gave me the new password and I got in but I will never call support again. I immediately changed it again, why in the world did they change the password? I will let my computer crash or I will just not work before I subject myself to that again. Incompetence does not even describe their attitude, more like hatred and contempt.
As far as Ipswitch I have no clue. Never changed it. Just kept it the same as I had it when we had the MQ Central email. Still getting spam and getting locked out. So glad they fixed the email system. NOT!

Hate to sound like a broken record, but I ONCE was able to change my email password, but now I CANNOT. Again, was told by ILP techs that only they can. This is so unacceptable to me. It is perplexing. I am able to change my Fluency password and Ultipro though. I agree, they are incompetent and probably just reading off a sheet.

I didnt even call. It takes a couple minutes, but I just go get a cup of coffee and let it go. Hopefully it will blow up and I will get one of those Laptops that Amy mentioned!

Wasn't at the meeting. Please tell more about the "laptops." For me too it didn't take long to go through the disc check but it just shouldn't be doing that. If you read my posts, the fix was deleting a Microsoft or Windows update of some sort. The whole system is just third-worldly.
