Was anything said about laying off all PT people?

I was with another company that IMEDX took over last year. Now, like everyone else, my work at IMEDX is drying up. When I used to get about 20,000 lines in a pay period, I'm now getting about 10,000 to 14,000. I have taken another MT position to try and supplement. I see some people are actually being laid off. What I can't figure is why we're not all being laid off. Why are some of us still there, dying a slow, painful financial death?? ...

Below is a link to article about UPMC laying off transcriptions, but they are to be offered jobs with Nuance. Ugh. I wish I could tell all of these MTs to run the other way. It's crazy to me that people do not even know what medical transcriptionists do most of the time. After 15 years, I finally had left MQ to go to DSG, then got thrown back into MQ/MM 2 years later when they bought out DSGs medical transcription department. I left MT completely after that fiasco. Some, not all, QA people need to realize our frustrations are just as great as theirs. That's why the report is sent to QA in the first place!!
