the people you need to reach with your success story don't want to hear what you have to share.

You recognized that the career you had chosen had changed and was no longer going to provide you with the means to have the life you wanted. So, you got up and exerted the necessary effort to do something about it. You acknowledged the difficulties and work required to accomplish your goals (going back to school in a demanding program, commuting out of your comfort area for as long as it took, etc.) and you did it anyway and have a successful life to show for it.

You made the choice not to be among those who fail to take advantage of opportunity because it shows up wearing overalls and looks like work. Sadly, you are in the minority.
