Lets Make - A comparison

MTs are NOT the only profession that has had a cut in pay, so please do not even equate that to other professions. I would like to point out that pretty much any profession that had a UNION backing them has had their union busted and a good-sized pay reduction. For the ones nearing retirement in those professions, it has been FORCED retirement, so the positions can be replaced by younger people with a very reduced starting salary. Pensions have been cut or lost, mostly due to the off-shoring of manufacturing jobs, as well, as the companies close their doors and leave the good ol' USA for cheaper labor elsewhere and the importation of merchandise from those countries. New technology also played a hand in this, in may professions other than MT. "Disposables", as you put it, is evident in just about every profession, but you can thank our government and greed for that. It's not just the MTs that are suffering, believe me, and yes it can be stopped if we had a government that gave a crap... which we do not and probably never will again! The "people" could actually turn things around if they just had the balls enough to do it. It is not impossible and we really should not be wringing our hands, or crying and whimpering about what we allowed to take place. People used to have the backbones to fight for right. Now they are just too wimpy and want someone else to do it for them, but whine when nobody else will.
