From what I understand, you can file for spousal benefits BUT if your actual benefit is higher, then you get your own benefit. I had planned on filing for spousal benefit at age 62 and then work part-time until I reached my full benefit age. But if I understand correctly, that is not going to work. Even at 62, my benefit is more than what I would get for spousal. I really hate to file at 62 and then only have that amount for the rest of my life, but I may feel different in a couple of years. :)
