Why is M-Modal running an ad for hiring when they recently laid off so many transcriptionists?

Even though I am glad to not work there anymore and I'm getting more in UE. But it just proves what a bunch of greedy, moral-less bunch of sheisters they are. They ARE always hiring--but always to replace the higher paid MTs with cheaper ones in their place....at least until they can get enough indians to work for 2 cents a line....and this takes time....

Because they still think there is an endless pool of high-school dropouts out there who can do perfect work for minimum wage in spite of all evidence to the contrary. They have never given this occupation the respect it deserves. They keep thinking if they dismiss all the underperforming MTs that they can be replaced with the untapped talent still untainted by this industry. Don't know when they will figure it out but they are slow learners.

Also, to the person who is using my nickname, please stop and find yourself another one. I've been using this for years.

When you say "they dismiss all the under-performing MTs." They are laying off the OVERPAID (in their minds) MTs. There may or may not be some under-performing ones in there, but that is NOT their criteria. They could not give a rat's arse about quality. I consistently made their ridiculous 99.5% demands, never was wrote up for anything, always worked my shift and then some when asked...still laid off I am convinced because I made 9.5 cents a line. Too much in their opinion.

I make over that, I'm still here. Sometimes I wish I had gotten laid off, other times I'm thankful to still be here, but every day is a struggle. I cry daily, my BP is out of whack, I have headaches nonstop. I don't think there was any rhyme or reason to the layoffs, I think thy pulled from a hat. Why did they let weekend help go when they need it so badly? Why some part timers and not others? I don't get it.

I know they hated having to pay me my benefit rate for NJA. I think that and how much I was making. Well, no use trying to figure them out for sure. I know how you feel, my BP was always sky high. The stress was ridiculous. Just not worth it. I just have to say try not to let that company stress you out. Just do your job and go with the flow and just know if you do get laid off it won't be the worst thing that could happen. I know. Good luck to you.

underperforming MTs. A lot of the fired/laid off MTs were long-time employees with a lot of experience. I believe the more ILPs they hire, then they fire/lay off more US MTs. It is just a matter of time before most of us are gone. This company is based on money, not performance.

Unless I missed something, no one has said if there were specific regions where many MTs were laid off. Perhaps MM is going about this region by region. I am a Tier 3 part-timer and have not received a call. Of course, my mgr said it was all a rumor -- yea, right. I agree with those who said we are being replaced by India. WTF is going on? I am no longer an MT, but I still care about a lot of people who are still TRYING to work at the Q. I see an opening at TTS but when reviewing posts about TTS it sounds like a bad place to work with incompetent recruiters and managers. It seems 95% of the posts are bad regarding TTS.
