Team Leaders? - What is their function?

Are team leaders MTs? If so, can they cherry pick reports. Strange the same bad dictators sit all day yet the updates show there is less work available on account.

Sorry but there are so many titles to keep up with and the only one I understand is the supervisor role. So a team leader is appointed a leader to do what?

Apparently to cherry pick and not know the answers to questions, at least on my team.

I just thought they did clean up work and did not know they could cherry pick and assign themselves work they want to do and leave garbage for regular MTs.

There are several TL's per COM. Some of them know certain accounts better, but they're not really "under" a specific TSM.

The TL's generally "train" you on new account specifics, and are the go-to for those accounts when you have questions. The one I always go to is wonderful. She's always on Spark, and I have another way to contact her if I need as well, including I can call her with questions. I don't abuse that, but I have called her before.

However, there used to be a TL that is now a TSM who was the worst TL I had ever dealt with in my life. But her promotion doesn't surprise me one bit with this company.

I don't know who mine is or what she does.I get "updated" lists of various people in various departments...I keep them, but have never used any of them. i don't know many of the abbreviations used in emails.

All I do know for sure is, if I don't hear from anyone, via email or spark, I may have an okay day.

Yes, TL are MTs, and yes, they do assign, and notice there are a lot listed in teams, and have to ask why? IMHO, they get to pick and choose, I watch it every single day, and keep my notes. From all the hundreds of dictators, each day, I get the same bad ones every single day and watch the better ones disappear way down in the list.....

I am a Team Leader at Nuance. This are some of the things I do on a day-to-day basis:
Account specific training and additional platform training for new MTs and QCs. Coach and mentor new, transition, and graduate MTs to bring their quality and productivity to maximum potential. Monitor pend queues and instruct movement of QC staffing as needed to deliver reports within TAT and quality guidelines. Monitor pend queues for stat reports and assign stats to QCs for timely completion. Detect workflow thresholds and notifies TSM so that staff can be moved to other accounts. Perform stat corrections and merges dictations as necessary; available for stat job assignment. Assess and assist the TSM to determine which MTs have achieved direct submission privilege (DSP) status. Other duties as assigned by TSM (relisten to Fiesa challenges, spot checks, client feedback, etc.) Respond to emails from client support services. I can only speak for myself when I say that I do not cherry pick reports. I work according to TAT unless an email request is received for a specific report to be completed ASAP. Sometimes we get requests to complete all reports by a particular physician if they are going out of town, and in that case, then we would not be working according to TAT. I am also available for my entire shift on Yahoo and Spark to answer questions from MLSs and QCs.

Does it really help anyone that there are 10 team leaders sending out the same workload emails over and over? Do they even have a clue what accounts we are on? I don't need a zillion emails all in a row telling me the same thing. I get emails about accounts I'm not even on. Isn't the point of a team leader to manage a team - the team they have? The TSM and QC person I've worked with forEVVVVER in the west is gone, both of them being moved up into new positions, and dividing their accounts and the entire team of MTs/MMEs has been disassembled and moved to other areas. I used to get the links for the reports that were audited, now I just get an email telling me how many mistakes I made, whether they were critical or minor and my score. Just read the MQ Central news about the pilot program for a new position called Region Team Lead (RTL). I'm already confused enough, I don't need a new acronym. They said the CTL would now be doing 100% QA and transcription. It didn't really specify who will be doing PTO requests, etc. (unless I overlooked it) I'm glad I already requested Christmas off and it was granted! Thanks CTL! I'll miss you! ...

stating too many reports being sent in with blanks. Need to send these to QA/MME/whatever they're called now. Why would we do this and get paid even less for the most horrible dictators, the worst sound quality, nothing in repository to help, being in the cesspool, yadda, yadda, yadda. This is just so laughable that they'd send this knowing we'll get paid less for sending these reports to QA. Not me!! ...
