My management team is gone ... :( - anon

Posted: Sep 18, 2013

The TSM and QC person I've worked with forEVVVVER in the west is gone, both of them being moved up into new positions, and dividing their accounts and the entire team of MTs/MMEs has been disassembled and moved to other areas.  I am *terribly* sad about this because they were both absolutely amazing to work for, but I'm glad that I'll be staying in the Western region.

My question is about my new TSM here in the West.  Her initials are KP ... anyone working with her?  Any insight will be very much appreciated.

The same thing happened to me. Both team members moved. I was promised I would keep my same accounts and everything would be the same. WRONG! Got a new super who is a b...., everything is about her. Hardly ever see my old accounts, maybe 1 report here and there. I was put on performance management right off the bat for a small error, not a critical error. Hate this place.

Are you in the Western region or someplace else? - anon

I've only heard one thing about my new supervisor and it wasn't very positive. I've lived a very spoiled life for the last 10 years, my old team was an absolute *dream* team. Lots of communication, lots of positive feedback, etc. Since switching to this new TSM, I have not heard a single word ... no emails, not even an introduction note to let me know she's my new supervisor so just wondering if anyone here works on her team.

I'm feeling a little bit lost right now. :(

if it's the person I'm thinking of - worked with at YOG

[ In Reply To ..]
I think you're gonna be okay!

I'm sorry ... what is YOG? :( - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
I don't think I know what that is ... are her initials KP?

KP used to be my mgr. She is okay, not the greatest - mmm

[ In Reply To ..]
I only had her for probably 3 months as I got moved around. I didn't care for her as much as my old mgr. She is very tough and not too accomodating. She is 100% by the book as she used to have a higher job at MM and either got demoted or they moved her down.
Yes, that's her ... same person - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
You're saying the *exact* same thing I heard about her from someone else. I heard that she is strictly by the book, she doesn't have a lot of tolerance, insists that you keep tight adherence to your scheduled hours and that she doesn't have a very warm personality ... at ALL.

Sounds like you might've had the same experience so it must be true.

Thank you so much for your response ... I have a feeling this is going to be a huge adjustment. :(
oh well I could be wrong - bought by MM
[ In Reply To ..]
I thought I remembered her as a good person but this other poster's info is probably more current.
I hope to gosh you're right ... - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
It "might" be the same person. Someone I talked to today said that she used to be a TSM supervisor and was very nice and sweet until she was demoted or bumped down to TSM, then she had a slight personality change so she might very well be the person you remember.

Thank you so much for your input, it helps a lot and I do hope you're right about her.
KP's group - Used to be MME
[ In Reply To ..]
I have a friend at M*M who was an MME and now a SHDA (Senior Healthcare Documentation Specialist). She went with KP's group as her old supervisor, MP was moved to working with customers. I think it was MP; for sure first name started with an M. She was my CCM while I was at Medquist. She was never an MT; an IT person, who was laid off or take CCM position. She was a real peach! I have no idea what any of the above means; her e-mail was rather cryptic as I don't know if she knows exactly what is going on either. I asked her if she still did QA? They can spin these titles anyway they want and you don't make squat. Again M*M smoke screen.
Yes ... exactly - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
Exactly ... MP was our CCM/TSM. She did go to work directly with clients so she will be traveling and had to give up her accounts and team. I absolutely loved her ... her whole team did. She was the most perfect supervisor - so positive, encouraging, and personable. Definitely, definitely a peach. Like your friend, I was moved over to KP too, as an MME (Senior Healthcare Documentation Specialist) so we still do QA.

I'm trying to keep an open mind, but I have to admit what I'm hearing doesn't make me feel very optimistic. :(
AP was a dream; KP was - former YOGer
[ In Reply To ..]
not overly bright by my estimation.
KP never worked for YOG - ppp
[ In Reply To ..]
I used to be in the West too and the one you have now never worked for YOG. She was a higher up at MM always. Sorry you have her..she is tough
Oh noooo ... then it's unanimous ... - anon

I'm a very high producer and a super hard worker but I'm used to being left alone to do my work. I don't work well at all being micromanaged. :(

Thanks for the head's up, to everyone who responded.
Southwest - ea
[ In Reply To ..]
Who are the managers for Southwest AP and AG? and Q/A KF and SC?
Right. No good MT does well with micromanagement. - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
It's stressful. With all the demands and quality expectations asked of MTs (and how important a supervisor is to employee morale), you'd think they'd assess a TSM's job performance in the same way. One of the reasons I stay is because I have a great supervisor, and I don't take it for granted. Good luck!

your office genie - bought by MM

[ In Reply To ..]
way back when and I remember her and she was a good person.

Were the initials of the TSM and QC - former West MT

[ In Reply To ..]
you worked for SM and AW? I used to be in the West and loved SM and AW. I got transferred to another region but never heard what happened to SM and AW. I remember a KP from YOG and she was wonderful too, just like SM. If you have KP from former YOG, count yourself lucky.

No, the initials for the TSM and QC I worked for were ... - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
MP and DM. I think there are several TSMs/QCs for the west - about a dozen or more?

Thank you for the input about KP, I'm still wondering if we're talking about the same KP because I'm not sure if mine ever worked for YOG. Gosh I hope so.

I - used

[ In Reply To ..]
to work for SM (AW was not there then), but I also loved SM and always wished I did not get transferred from there. Everything went downhill after that.

Former TSM/QC - Tigger

[ In Reply To ..]
Hehehehe... both of the above (be being the underling) are still here, the TSM got all new accounts and the QC got moved to another department. Blech. I used to work under KP and she did come from YOG. She can be very friendly if you stay under the radar. As others have said, though, keep your hours and try not to make any critical errors, because she's all about performance management. I would think she wasn't too happy about being moved from her prior position to this one. She essentially switched positions with the TSM that had the accounts before her. As much as I loved working with MTs, I think the new position will be a relief from all the stress of the QC job... at least I hope so!

If she is the same one I had, she didn't switch positions with my old manager - ppp

[ In Reply To ..]
My old mgr quit so KP got the West MT's in her group. She did performance manage me and she is the only one after me being here for 20 years, that wrote me up and now it is forever in the corrective actions list on my acct. Thanks so much KP...Way to go. Luckily I didn't agree with it and wrote an explanation and my new Mgr saw it and laughed that she thought it was ticky tack what she wrote me up for. If you aren't a butt kisser, she won't like you

I'm not sure what you're talking about - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
We might be talking about different teams.

The Western TSM I posted about didn't get all new accounts, she's working directly with the clients/hospitals now, traveling all over the western region. She isn't a TSM anymore. The QC got bumped up from a regional QC position to a new member of the auditing team.

The former TSM and QC of my region have both been promoted, and neither one of them have been given new accounts.

new TSM - ea

[ In Reply To ..]
There was a KP that worked for YOG, but not as a MT, and she also works here.

Just so happy - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
that TR moved to a new position. She was a terrible TSM. Won't miss her at all. QA KC is a dream. New TSM is SM and she is already a 100% improvement from TR.

Not Management
Mar 08, 2010

I am not management!  You just don't get it.  I hate to say it, but many of you are too miserable here to see the good... for whatever reasons.   I am an MT.  I'm tempted to put my real name and MQ e-mail, but what for.  I've said what I did because I am doing okay, because I have been through frightening changes before with MQ and it has always worked out.  It seems foolish to tell you my real name though, as you mostly are a bunch of whining loser ...

New Management

Decided to send this note to our new management after the e-mail we got today about Mission One, whatever the heck that is.  I know I'll never get a response, never do.  But sometimes you just have to vent!  Here it is:  Hello.  Everytime we get new management, I throw these questions out although they still have yet to be answered to any satisfaction.  I've been with this company since WAY back when it took over Digital Dictation back in the 90 ...

Go Team!
Aug 27, 2014

Don't you just love how they try to motivate us to do a good job by emphasizing teamwork and how "important" each of us are as part of a team? Yet the pay is so low you can barely feed yourself or pay the rent? As a result, the team of employees are leaving in droves, at least as soon as they are able to. Certainly not motivated much by mere words not backed up by pay that shows real appreciation. ...

Is It Some New Management Technique Not To Say Thank You To
Sep 22, 2010

I'm a high producer and self starter. I don't need hand-holding.  But, geesh, it's just human nature to want to hear a sincere, individual compliment for a job well done sometimes, if for no other reason than it motivates me to do a better job and make the company more money.  At some point, it seems most management has started to treat the worker bees as enemies instead of part of the team.  It's short-sighted and lazy, and I know it has to be costin ...

Performance Management
Oct 12, 2010

I haven't been put on PM yet but fear I might.  Got an email that said I had a "low-scoring feedback report."  It was for using follow up instead of followup (I know better) and then omitting the word "the."  Now, I will own up to these mistakes, they WERE my mistakes, but by no means life-threatening in any case.  But apparently this caused my score to drop below 98%.  Now I'm terrified they are going drop my pay by 3 cents a line, and I am already in danger of not being able to ...

Dear Management
Jun 09, 2011

Dear Management,  I have enjoyed working for you for the past several years ... best place I have worked in during my 20+ years as an MT.  HOWEVER, why do you find it ethical to find ways to sneak in the back door and take money out of my pocket, thinking I will not notice.   Yes, I understand, you need your own line counting system because the one I type in for the client gives me partial credit for headers and footers, and of course I shouldn't get credit for those after ...

Incompetent Management
Jul 05, 2011

After years of going through this, finally I have no other conclusion to draw but that it's pervasive.  I am talking about incompetent management. They talk about "the team" this, "the team" that.  But they have NO concept of what teamwork is, so that is just lip service. If I make a very simple request for something that will make the work flow more efficient and help everyone, I am either blown off completely or told "we will TRY to do that, but we're ...

How Do You Get Management To Listen.
May 30, 2012
