First failed audit - mom2huskies
Posted: May 28, 2014
What happens after you fail your first audit? Figures I would get audited on my birthday. What a birthday present. I guess getting over 99 is not good enough.
Nope, according to MM, 99 is not good enough. Need - 99.6, soon to be 99.7 I hear. nm

its a great club, full of GREAT transcriptionists don't let it get you down..Just thought of something, WE, the US peeps, need higher quality so when they round in the ILPs, it comes to the 98% industry standard..WE are carrying them...Cause I have seen their work and there is no way in hades they are doing 99.7%...
We all need a QA at times - Jasper

When I got my failed first QA years ago I was devastated. The first thing you worry about is your economic life stopping, and everything attached to it (your whole life). Then you get angry at failing at a 95% or 97%, etc. You often think if little Johnie or Sally came back with a score of 95% from 3rd grade and him/her being threatened with expulsion. Then, when you get past the anger/reaction, you realize you made errors. It is usually humbling, sometimes silly what they nail you for. The "Never Events" -- wow, it is an eye opener. When they threaten or put you on full QA, literally stopping your money dead in its tracks, then it puts you in a tough spot, do I continue with this looming over my head at any time or leave. We transcriptionists are probably certifiably nuts, as every job I have worked at out of high school on was never even close to this. You have to think long and hard on all this, especially after a QA. Yes, the failed audit club is unique, but in reality most of us have our fingers crossed just to get another year in with a company. These are tough spots to be in and I recommend not getting too bent and try harder and, yes, slower. Production work is fickle, but I realized anything that gets in the way of production, even children, caused me to become, or tempted to become, a monster, even to my family. I never realized how doctors talking must be like drugs to an addict. We are way too invested. I have secretly hoped that our work would just leave for good to somewhere else where they do stellar work, then it would simplify my life. I did get working out of high school, and I have plenty of kick to keep working for others in a non-MT setting. It is just getting to that point of changing that is tough. I seriously tell everyone I meet to stay with per hr pay jobs, never ever go production/transcription. Good luck!
I agree that we need QA - mom2huskies

However I do think that 99.7 is unrealistic. They might as well make it 100 at this rate because that is what they are already asking for.

We all need QA even QA. There have been so many, many times I have sent a job to QA AND THEY COULD NOT FILL IN THE BLANKS.
What it amounts to is the dictation. There are many dictators that you never ever have a problem with and then there are those that you ALWAYS have a problem with, and I simply don't know why.
Why is it that so many are allowed to keep putting out bad dictation???? To me it is one of the most unfair things that you can do to a medical text editor/transcriptionist. It is like sending a soldier to war with no weapon.
I am sincerely thinking about early retirement because of this, and I won't go back into the transcription field. The unfairness is just about overwhelming!!!
Blanks abound - anon

I sent a report dictated by a foreign resident with 19 blanks. When I looked at the return from QA, they did not fill in any of the blanks. Why do we have to send it to them when they can't get them either? Remember what a past supervisor told me while working in the hospital "garbage in, garbage out," to put it nicely. They, the dictators, need to think about the work product they expect us to "clean up."

then Policies and at the bottom right-hand corner there is a policy for Performance Management. This will tell you what happens when you fail your first audit. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll pass the next one. Good luck!
I have failed more than one - and nothing happened

yet. This has been over the last couple of months. The day they cut my pay is the day I leave. Adios!
awww, happy birthday -- you have the same Bday as my daughter - pbj
So, I failed another "audit". I have to bounce back and forth between at least 10 accounts, therefore 10 different client profiles AND have to keep up with the ever changing QA preference of the day! I'm so depressed. It's really heard to understand that VR stuff and ESL dictators.
Has anyone failed more than a few audits and continued working? Will they fire me? I, like everyone else, am really struggling, but I NEED this job.
Any ideas on h ...
Sent out tip number 10 but inserted tip number 9!!! Too bad we cant take away their bonuses, hey? Oops... you are now in performance management shaw. You pay is cut in half and you will now be micromanaged until you poke your own eyes out. Now get to work!!! Mandatory OT for you. ...
Ridiculous. Nobody can maintain 99.7% accuracy for the long-term. They're probably going to fire me anyway so to heck with it, I'm just typing away. Whatever. ...
Asking why you would make an obvious mistake, because the customer wants answers, what do you say? I am not sure how to answer this. It was an error, ergo a mistake, and not meant to sabotage the report intentionally. How would you respond to this? ...
I failed ANOTHER test. This time I made it all the way through and took the transcription part of the test. I was just informed that my scores were not QUITE what they need to be. I think I am about ready to give up........I swear......... ...
Anyone else having this problem this morning or ever before? What did you do when it happened? I just started working anyhow. Guess I will email CCM and ask what to do but for now I am goign to work my shift without being clocked in. it just keeps saying clock on failed. I logged out and logged back in but still the same message. thanks and have a great tuesday! ...
So, I go through the grammar portion of the test, use a ton of reference materials when I needed to and I failed the test? Huh???!!! There wasn't even a place that told me what my score was! I have 10+ years in this field and can't see how I failed the test and it's just not sour grapes on my part.
This kind of shakes me to the core and makes me not want to apply anywhere else!
Anyone else have this happen? ...
Failed by 0.15. Got an error for "not following CP" Excuse me! I could not find this tiny exception in the jumble they call the CP. Oops, like, sorry I missed that, but I did hunt for it! I know there is one account in the many I encounter every day that I has this little tidbit waiting to bite you in the rear end.
Looking forward to 2 more fails - even though I am in the 99% range. I do not know how I am going to do any better with the sound quality and the horrid ASR I am given. I al ...
i'm just curious. most of the time i pass my audits with a 99.7. but there have been a few times i have gotten emails telling me my score was below 99.6 and showing me the error of my ways. but i have never seen the word FAIL nor has it even been a big deal, i just get the email letting me know and thats that.
does something different happen to some of you or is this what you are calling 'failing an audit' ? because i've never found it to ...
Has anybody gotten the above email stating now there are 2 post audit reports that we have to pull? The regular one and now a post audit m report??? What is this for??? This gets crazier every day ...
Took the test a few days ago and haven't heard anything back. Does anyone know if they advise you of a pass/fail, or do you only hear from them if you pass and are offered a position?
TIA? ...
I was wondering what the failed job alert e-mail meant. Also I have noticed that on every single one of those alerts that it has always been the bottom of the barrel dictator. ...
I am very upset, I took the radiology test and they say that I failed it and I don't see how. I have been a radiology transcriptionist for 20 years. There were only two questions on the multiple choice questions that I was uncertain of and the typing was easy. Has anybody else encountered this? ...
I took the test and scored a 92.91 and I needed a 96 to pass. I feel like a failure. The fourth report that I was given was a difficult dictator (a fast talker).
My question is, do you know when we can retest. Is it 90 days? ...
