FAILED 2ND AUDIT 3 DAYS AGO!! HELP! - Frances
Posted: Aug 08, 2012
Failed my second audit in 2 weeks a few days ago. Help, what happens now???? Do they fire ASAP?
I think you go into performance management - right?

Then you get your pay docked 3 cpl until off performance management. Then I think the will audit again every month and if you fail, then I think they fire you or something. Not really sure.

You should contact your CCM for more information just to make sure you understand what is going on.
I flat out asked my CCM if our pay is docked for failing more than 1 audit; she said no... - Kiki

She said the only time pay is docked is for over 5% sent to QA. I don't know for sure as I haven't failed 2 audits in a row as of yet. I have failed-- just not 2 in a row--always seem to pass the next one, so can't be sure about the pay cut. I would be curious to find out if pay is cut for 2 failing audits in a row. It doesn't make sense to me that they would cut pay for over 5% sent to QA but NOT for failing audits, so I'm not sure if my CCM was being truthful, either.
The pay cut happens when you get put on 100% hold for failing. - 100% of your work goes to QA then. NM
I failed 1 audit and was put on 100% QA so my pay sm - anon

went down the 3 cpl. I thought that was ridiculous so I ended up quitting after 17 years. Too bad the Q doese not do things together. Every CCM and managers above then do things differentily and nothing is in sync.
Before when I hinted I might quit they did everything to give me what I wanted and then with the audit thing they were unmovable. Stupid, stupid company.
Ridiculous audits - Ang

I also, after 16 years, quit. I had already lost respect for MModal and we got a new quality coach that had OCD. Constant picking and 4 page emails to read (no pay for doing that of course) After never failing an audit for 16 years, got 2 failing ones and threats. So I told them what I thought of their stupid audits and left. Maybe the audits had something to do with my high line rate. ya think. Anyway, just got another job offer and we'll see how it goes. After working every weekend, holiday and evening for years and hearing about nit-picky trivia on top of undeserved paycuts I was livid. Good riddance ultra-stupidity, hello world.

Forgot to mention I was put on 3 cents a line after the 2nd one. Not surprising as cheat the MTs is the name of the game.

I failed an audit and was told no pay cut (when I specifically asked in a tone as if to say their better not be). I should have known she was just saying that at the time. I am sure the case can and would be different at another time.
Yes, totally ridiculous audits. I mean, after 17 years as an MT (13 for me)...they cannot tell me that SUDDENLY they are just not happy with your work. It is soooooo obvious that these "audits" are done as a reason to either A) cut our pay down to the India rates as often as possible and/or B) get the higher paid (in their minds) MTs to quit, as they did to you, and I completely understand that on your part. However, if they try to pull that crap on me, all HELL is going to break loose. I won't quit (luckily I am in a position to not have to find another job quickly--I understand some are)--but I will play this rotten game with them. I will FORCE them to fire me(I live in CA - you get unemployment for firings) so I can at least collect that while looking for another job.
Dont' blame you for waiting - Ang

Go for it, Kiki if you can wait. Don't blame you for that at all. I had some savings to fall back on and honestly could just not stand that quality coach any longer. My CCM was wonderful but I was also having trouble with the fact that someone I liked so much was playing by MM's stinkin' rules. So I just bailed. The mentor thing was the last straw. Barf. No thanks for the help from people taking my hard earned line rate to feed their greed. The transition has not been easy. I am 62. But at least I am not PO'd every single minute I am working. Good luck to ya!! If you're good enough to reach a good line rate at MM I promise you will not have trouble finding another job. I was nervous but tested well and got 2 offers and am about to take a 3rd if it works out to be what I can do schedule-wise. The harder part for me is being up on the different computer stuff I need to know. Keep us posted.

Frances, three years ago I failed two audits in a row. Yes, it was horrible and I felt sick to my stomach, but these things happen, so don't let it mess with your mind. I was put on 100% QA for two weeks until I finally passed my third audit. As stated, I was sick to my stomach, couldn't eat, sleep and was scared to death every day, so I get where you are coming from. My advice to you, though you didn't ask for it is, slow down...waaayyyy down, understand that you will not be making any money for these two weeks, but it is better than being fired. You can do this. Ask for help from your quality coach. You can email me privately if I can be of any help to you. We are in this together.
Kimi - was your pay cut for those 2 weeks? - Kiki
[ In Reply To ..]
I'd like to know this as my CCM told me pay is not cut for failed audits, only over 5% QA submissions.

No it wasn't. I can't remember, but I think if I failed another one it would have been (?) and I would have been written up.
I wonder if she is a new hire? She asked if they fire ASAP - Whatever the case, I think
[ In Reply To ..]
they usually try to work with you first. I have never failed an audit thankfully.
But I would take the advice of Kimi and slow down if you are on VR. Sometimes if you have it going real fast you can miss things or hear things incorrectly.
Is there anything specific that you are having problems with on the audits?
3 years ago, that was not the policy. - CM

I had this happen and my pay was cut the 3 cpl. I just did the minimum required lines and no more since all I could have possibly made no matter what was minimum wage.
I TOTALLY feel your pain..I failed like 4 in a row - and it was beyond nerve wracking
[ In Reply To ..]
Four in a row of just under 99%..never below 98% and I literally was climbing the walls and so depressed. I hated that I felt like I could not type my way out of a paper bag after over 20 years of this...but then..and I do not mean this lightly, I figured, they are gonna do what they are gonna do. If they fire me, I go right to Unemployment. I did not agree with the stupid insignificant things I was being dinged for..never EVER was it medical phrasing or words..and a few instances where YES..I agreed, I missed a dosing, but that was far and few between. But having to correct MD's mistakes (incorrect work type), and being told to speed up the VR, but then you CLEARLY miss nuances that could change a sentence and BAM..you are failing audits.
It sucks and I am sorry you are going through this.
By the way, I finally "passed" and was lauded for my "improved" quality. Quite frankly, I wanted to throw up. Especially since my CCM is NOT an MT and would not know KWALATY if it came up and bit her.
So, I failed another "audit". I have to bounce back and forth between at least 10 accounts, therefore 10 different client profiles AND have to keep up with the ever changing QA preference of the day! I'm so depressed. It's really heard to understand that VR stuff and ESL dictators.
Has anyone failed more than a few audits and continued working? Will they fire me? I, like everyone else, am really struggling, but I NEED this job.
