The doctors were eventually told by the bean counters and think tank that studies were done, numbers were crunched, and this is the best thing to save money for the hospital system and that is what was going to be done. Deal with it or move along.
Saved money for the administrators to have custom decorated offices, huge plush conference rooms to entertain and impress other admin/exec types, decorate the buildings to be more patient friendly and welcoming, as well as all the admin people to continue their fat bloated salaries for their expensive homes in the exclusive golf course housing communities, award banquets for puffed-up awards that mean nothing, and any other extra fluff they can build into the budget for themselves.
That's the expensive, custom-blended coffee you're smelling, the ones the hospital admins have in their offices while many MTs get food stamps to survive.
