There is SO MUCH MORE TO THIS JOB than dictators, - formats, and abbreviations, etc. SM

You're severely delusional if you think you can sit down and do this job with no problem.

The wages are LESS THAN MINIMUM WAGE, at anywhere from 3 cents a line to usually 7, maybe 8 if you're lucky for straight typing. Try 3 cents for edting, maybe 4. That is, if there's work available on your account. You may have to carry several accounts for one company and toggle back and forth between them for the duration of your shift, which will waste a lot of your time and money.

Can you whip out at least a minimum of 120-150 lines per hour of straight typing - if you can get a job doing that?

Can you successfully edit at 98% or 99.5% quality consistently at 250-400 lines per hour of voice wreck work? AND maintain the production requirements many MTSOs want, despite supposedly being IC?

I've read the rest of your posts here. Your QA score is at risk just from what you've put on this board now.

But, hey, you're a Medical Provider. You think doing transcription will be a breeze, so go run wild for it. Then come back here and tell us how well you're doing. It won't take long for you to flop.

Especially with the quality of sound files many of us have to listen to every day; slurring, mumbling, speed talking, call bells, beepers, cackling nurses at a busy nursing station, doctors dictating in the lounge under a television set, on a crappy staticky cell phone with every other word cutting out but you're still expected to not leave blanks in the dictation, in their car on the freeway or at a soccer game, at home with dogs barking and kids screaming. Try that and see how well you do.

Go find some test files online to listen to, then try typing those among all the background noise listed above, then come back and tell us your QA score.

Piece of cake for a Medical Provider like you.
