You don't really need liability insurance to - work as an MT...

Who told you that? Well anyway, why would they not accept your diploma from medical school, nursing school, or whatever school you got your medical training from? You've really got to get over being incensed at things like this because as an MT, you are going to experience some of the most degrading and condescending treatment you can imagine. Also, just because you were are medical provider does not mean you are going to be able to understand the dictators (this is called ear training), or know formats, understand dangerous abbreviations, know grammar and punctuation, and all kinds of things that MTs learn in their courses. It might not be a bad idea to take a course through Career Step. You also need to know that you are going to probably make minimum wage doing this work. You'd be better of taking the Medical Coding course through Andrews School, where you'd have a chance of making much better money.
