Just wondering...what is the proper way of typing CO2?

proper way to type CO2 is with the "2" as subscript - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I can only format it in Word. I tried to copy/paste it into the comment, but it did not work.

From the BOS 2

subscripts
Use subscripts only if they can be placed appropriately and in reduced size, and if
technological limitations do not delete them; otherwise, place the character(s) on
the line or use an alternative form.
CO2 or CO2 or carbon dioxide
