Warfarin subQ b.i.d.

TYIA.

Does the dislike mean I typed it wrong? - nm

Every company I've worked for wants it spelled - subcutaneously

My companies don't want it abbreviated at all. They want subcutaneous or subcutaneously.

Per Stedman's Abbreviations...SM - Old Anon

subq or subcu, however, 2 accounts I work on want us to use subcutaneous or subcutaneously. So, depends on the client profile. IMHO, I don't like the way subQ looks, and I'd use subq if I could. Don't even pay attention to the like/dislike thing. It means nothing.

Thank you both! - nm

subcu: Abbreviated form for subcutaneous or subcuticular. When "subcu" is dictated and you are unsure which term is intended, spell subcu or subcut. Do not use the abbreviation sub q because the q can be mistaken for a medication dosage.

Example:
D: The wound was closed with running subcu stitches of 5-0 Prolene.
T: The wound was closed with running subcu stitches of 5-0 Prolene.
