NUANCE RECRUITER CANT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY - MT

I took the Nuance test a few weeks ago.. a Nuance recruiter by the name of contacted me, eager to hire me, said he would email me information on benefits, etc., never did, so two days later I emailed him again, and he never answerred... then I called him... he FINALLY emailed me the benefit info. He then told me he would send me an offer last Friday so I could think about it this weekend and give him a decision by Monday, which is now almost four days ago. He never sent me an offer and has not answered any emails except one brief email, yesterday, after waiting six days, but none since. This recruiter SORELY REPRESENTS NUANCE and leads me to believe that if they hire a recruiter to treat potential MTs so disrespectfully and in such an undependable way, that it only seems fair to assume that Nuance would treat the MT the same identical way. Are there actually any MT outsourcing companies out there that treat MTs with the respect and prompt responsiveness that we deserve?

3 different recruiters. I was told that had various shifts available on multiple platforms. Come to find out all there was no various shifts or multiple platforms. I was told they had 1 opening that my computer specs didn't fit. I haven't heard from them since.

When it starts out like that, that is a good sign to STEER CLEAR. - because once you get in the door..

it only gets worse. I dealt with a company that was extremely unorganized from the start and I should have known then. But despite all the warning signs, I went ahead and started with them anyway and it's been nothing but a headache every since. Save yourself some grief and forget about it. Otherwise you'll be sitting here with a migraine like me, trying to get your blood pressure down.

Be thankful you dodged the Nuance bullet. - You do NÒT want to work here.

Ok. I have to pipe in. I found this site a few months ago. I have been with Nuance exactly 15 weeks today. I am so blown away by everyone's negative experiences with this company. The only thing I can figure is I must be one of the very few lucky ones. I have an account which is very very little ESL and never runs out of work. I feel so horrible that there are so many of you that are on the verge of homelessness. Granted, I don't make anywhere near the money I used to make, but I am able to survive and I am in my mid 50s, single, and pay a mortgage. Am I the only one making it or are the ones making it with this company just not on here at all?

Anyone who actually "made it" working for them - has likely already been laid off.

It's just the nature of this board. I come here out of boredom sometimes, but for the most part it can be a pretty negative place. There are posts few and far between from people who seem to be doing okay, but they either dont post much or have quit coming here altogether because of the negativity I will probably get a 1000 dislikes for this post, but oh well, it's the truth.

It is what it is - It is very difficult to put a POSITIVE spin on things when you are the one in a desperate situation, dealing with being close to homeleslessness, not having money for your kids for Christmas and sometimes no money for food, all because of the ups and downs of the outsourcing industry. Do you honestly expect people to get on here and be all positive about it - No - Hard-working MTs are on here venting, as they have every right to - about their hardships and very negative experiences, so, it is inevitable that their opinions are not going to be all positive and cheerful. It's called life.

both perspectives. I totally agree that this job is no longer what it use to people and a lot of people are suffering because of it. But we need to also respect the fact that some people are still doing just fine. Not everyone shares the same experience. Two people can work at the same company and have the exact opposite experience. I sincerely hope that things get better for you and anyone else who is struggling.

My biggest complaint about this board is that those having a tough time see to lash out at others who post that there experience is not the same and they say things like "give it time." Those posters deserve respect just like everyone else who post here. They are not the ones you should be angry with.

with my job also but say anything about it on this board and you're a suit, etc... I agree that this board drives people away with all the negativity. For those posters who say not negativity but the truth well the truth is there are a lot of us happy with our jobs and will still be happy after the new pay comp goes into effect.

Perhaps you came from something less than Nuance (is that even possible?) or you were acquired. Either way, you're in for a rude awakening and very soon I think. I "assume" anyone who is able to survive on this pittance has no other mouths to feed than their own, so those posts are few and far between. Enjoy it while it lasts!

is finally revealed. The changes are so exciting, in fact, that they refuse to reveal them until they stock up on brand new MLS who don't know better as they anticipate the mass exodus. Finding your accts that easy and profitable is a sure sign they will be gone soon unfortunately. Good luck.

okay. Sure, I get frustrated some days, but it's that way with any job. I have a great TSM, a good account and rarely run out of work. I've learned over the years (my mid-50's, too) that all jobs have good things and all jobs have bad things about them. You just learn to deal with it as best as possible and go on or you find something different.

The only disrespect I get is the amount of pay. I've never had a negative experience with any of my TSMs. I find them to be helpful and supportive and courteous. Also I don't any complaints about the editing platform or speech recognition. Now, if they paid 5 or 6 pennies per line for editing and twice that for regular typing, I wouldn't have any complaint at all. Pay sucks, that's all, in my opinion.

great, respectful, friendly. Took the test, passed, and had an offer within the same day. But she was just doing her job, so that has no bearing on how it would actually be working here. I've been here a while and it's not the best but it's definitely not the worst. The poster below is correct; this is basically a bitch board, which I must admit I sometimes partake in--I wish it was all roses and sunshine but that is not realistic anymore.....Sad.

Big difference in ppl coming on here and "bitching" and people expressing their VERY negative experiences with their outsourcing companies/accounts. We need to continue to keep it real, even if it is negative.

Thinking about getting a restraining order out. QUIT CALLING ME!! It's downright creepy you even have my number. And now reading these posts I am glad I never had for one second thought of wasting my time to see what they wanted.

Suits at Nuance, Mmodal, Recruiters could not do what I have trained for the better part of 20 years to perfect and now that I am away from this dead industry there is no way on god's green earth I will take my skills and sell them for minimum wage.

Now excuse me, but my shift at MickeyDee's is starting and I've got to go. Yes...I'd rather work for min wage with set hours without having to be upheld to impossible schedule, nannyism, and perfection quality. I did not train for 2 years at a top hospital to be highly trained in all areas of medicine only to be relegated to a typing monkey.

After some coworkers and I applied for positions with a different company, I was floored by how many went on and on about the recruiter being "so nice" and how that translated -- in their minds -- into a reflection of their immediate supervisor and everyone else within the company. I didn't even apply to your company but for some reason they're all over me, calling and emailing. I type radiology only; I told the recruiter that. He insists I need to put in an application and test, but I'm not sure I want to spend the time and of course he refuses to give me any details until I spend it. I think it's terrible that an MQ recruiter is on this board alluding to threatening MQ employees and former MQ employees about voicing their opinions about this company and that somehow they can figure out who we are. I have applied to Nuance, and already went thru the online process. Also had friends at N submit my resume. I got a voice mail from a "Colleen" at Nuance today, saying she has my resume, but I have to complete some "Assessment", which she has emailed to me, as far as links to follow. Recevied a message from OSI recruiter giving instructions to register for testing? Anyone know how long it took to receive the confirmation code once registering? According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

I thought they were 2 different services. Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows. All the small companies have been merged I guess. I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR. Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...
