NJA policy Nuance - New to Nuance

New to the company. No work available. What is the no jobs available policy? Spend the rest of your night checking back for work or do you get paid for work availabilty?

Stay on and check for 15 minutes and then if still no work, log out/clock out and try later. You can choose to flex outside your shift. If you decide not to flex, you can use PTO for that time or just not get paid.

You get in trouble if you stay logged in and are not working.

I have been checking off and on all day. I had only found 3 reports up until about 1-1/2 hours ago and then one physician decided to dictate a lot so that was good and I at least got that in but I am still short 5 hours and will have to somehow make that up between now and the end of the week. We shall see. I don't really mind only because we did our Christmas early and so this afternoon I wasn't going to do anything anyway and my kids are older so they had other plans this afternoon but I feel bad for people with little kids where the whole day is a lot of fun and you're stuck on a computer.

Nuance/Webmedx, When I was with Webmedx you had to flex and pad your timecards to make it look like you got your work done in the alloted time, I was contacted by the DOL of Atlanta, GA as this is an illegal practice and you are supposed to get an hourly wage for your scheduled shift, not spending an additional 2-5 hours a day waiting for work. I quit the company because of this and the many other issues they had. If you want the true and correct answer to your question, contact the department of labor and they will clarify it for you, then you can make decisions about how to spend your time from there.....

This is news to me. When working for W, there was no such thing as working off clock AFAIK. You would get called on it for sure and even face termination. When we received NSA, we had to flex, take PTO or non-PTO time. That was it.

I never had to pad hours for Webmedx. Great - company, sad that gone.

I was originally with one of the ambulatory groups that came through the back door of Nuance. Our old ways of doing things have slowly been phased out since Nuance acquired us. Currently I get 8.5 cpl for standard lines and 1 cpl for qualified (template) lines. I haven't gotten the email about the video yet, but I've been reading on here about the new 7 cpl rate. I know this isn't what they intend, but I'm wondering if we need to stick to our schedules anymore. If we can "make it up" in the same day, is it necessary to wait til our scheduled start time if we usually run out? I mean, why wait til our scheduled second shift hours if we're afraid of running out? Can't we get on earlier ("same day") and get whatever is available then? So help me understand this "new" policy. Are we taking a cut in what we accrue for PTO? I have over 15 years with this company and find it hard to believe longevity/loyalty do NOT count. So as I read it, the person that started yesterday will accrue at the same rate as me? I would love to know how people are handling this new NJA policy. As I understand it, if we get NJA during our work schedule, we are supposed to keep checking back for work through our shift. We are allowed to work at any time up until midnight to get in our hours for the day without approval. A couple weeks ago someone on here mentioned that we do not have to use our PTO for NSA. She advised me to contact HR, which I did, who also told me the policy is we do NOT have to use our PTO for NSA. The conflict is, my SM sends out emails prior to time card approval stating we have to use PTO if we have it, or submit PTO for unpaid if we have no balance. I am curious to know if my SM just isnt aware of the policy, or if she just wants us to use our PTO so our hours will all be accounted for. ...

When we got the New Work Availiability Policy last week I replied and made a suggestion that they go back to the idea of a 12-hour shift within which to get your 8 hours. I pointed out that it would eliminate the work tickets and all the other administration and mumbo jumbo that goes on trying to get everyone's work hours in. As I read the new policy what has been eliminated is the option if you run out of work during your shift, to just call it quits for the day and take leave without pay. Instead, you have to keep checking back during your shift. However, if you still are short hours you have the option then to take leave without pay. I have a question about Transcend policy for which i would really like to get an accurate answer. I am currently working as a full time employee for them, which requires a minimum of 7 hours per day, in addition to the $900 gross pay per check. Transcend, in their employment info, states they only want 3% sent with blanks to QA after 90-day probation is over. What if you are changing accounts or have some really difficult docs?
