I called tech support and was asked for my name and employee number. I always start with the number, and then tell them my name because I know they already have it up on the screen. Surprisingly, tech guy didn't sound foreign. I give him my 6-digit employee number at a regular human speed. He asks me to give it to him again, so I do, a little slower this time. He then says, "Could you slow down a little." Sure, I give it to him a 3rd time. Seriously? It's six digits. C'mon now. He asks for my name. It's a normal American name, even my last name. He asks me to spell it. I do. He asks me to "spell it again, please...slower." So I do...very, very slowly. He then says, "What's your last name?" I tell him, "I just spelled it for you. It's ______." He says, "What is your last name?" I tell him again. Yes, a normal American, everyday name. My child has 3 kids in class with the same exact last name, and no we're not related to any of them. He asks me for my phone number. I give it to him, slowly (by now, I figure he's having a stroke or something so I'll just be proactive). He asks me to give it to him again...slowly. Now, if you knew my phone number, you'd know how ridiculous it is because it's so easy people think I'm a business instead of a homeowner. He asks me for the last 4 again and I say it like: "1 (deep cleansing breath) 2 (deep cleansing breath) 3 (deep cleansing breath) 4 (smile...short prayer that this call isn't going to take all day)." He then tells me I could log in to Remedy to make the call shorter. I tell him I'm calling about Remedy because I can't log into it. He says, "What can't you log in to?" I tell him, "Remedy." He says, "Why can't you log into it?" I tell him, "I don't know. That's why I called you, but I'm losing faith that you can even take my basic information. Am I calling India?" He says, "Do I sound Indian?" I say, "Nope, but you comprehend like someone pretending to be American in India." He tells me, "I'll have it fixed in 30 minutes." I told him, "I'll be holding my breath," and hung up.
