Tech support international??? - HK

This might be old news, but I don't call tech support much. I called them a couple of days ago, and the automated voice told me it may be international. I am pretty sure the woman was from India. Last year, I used to only get local boys on the phone for that sort of thing. How long has this been going on? I wonder what sort of impact it had on our tech support guys.

when I need to call the HD, it's at the very end of my shift (like 2 a.m.), and I get to speak with someone I cannot understand and who, in turn, does not understand ME! Then they say they will "look into it", I thank them, finish my shift, and go to bed.

Before I know it, some ding-dong is calling me at 7 or 8 a.m. about the call to the HD. PLEASE!!! I just got in bed at 3:30!! LEAVE ME ALONE!! I need sleep, surprising as that seems. If I can manage to convey that to Ding-Dong without snapping his head off, I count myself as lucky. He says, "Oh, sorry.: which I take to mean "we won't call you at an ungodly hour (relative to my shift).

Guess what? 2 HOURS LATER THEY CALL AGAIN!!! They have questions about my original question. I can feel my MModal ulcer growing as I speak. Several times I have to say "what did you say?" or "beg pardon?". After 10 minutes of that, I finally said "Look, I'm really trying to be nice, but I just cannot understand what you're saying. Can you arrange for someone to call me who actually speaks English I can understand?"

Two hours later, I get another call. Same guy. I decided it would be better just to block the HD temporarily on my p hone before I decide to bury the hatchet --- in someone's head!

Really puts a shine on your day BEFORE YOU EVEN START TO WORK!

and I mentioned that the ASR in DQS 7 is BAD, much worse than before. He said, "yes, I know - it's because the system has to relearn from scratch all the dictators, and it's going to be a while before it gets as "good" as it was before." I have switched accounts and can't see my lines for the new account. Have asked my TSM about it several times, to no avail. Called tech support and they can't do anything without a ticket but person I spoke to couldn't tell me how to get a ticket....and round and round we go. And we have been told not to use the line counts in Dictaphone EXText but to go by the one on iChart. Frustrating! ...

Do you think Tech Support could adjust the volumes so that the whispered jobs are amplified and the loud jobs are toned down, so there is like one set loudness? I've read on here previous comments about the ILPs not having the skill set to perform straight transcription/editing, and if that's true (and I tend to believe it myself), then exactly what is their purpose in the industry? Can they churn out the line count (or way above and beyond line requirements)? Can they create/edit a document that is ready for release to clients? Who QAs their grammar, punctuation, spelling (in correct English)? Can they precisely transcribe OR reports, car ...
