Tech support international??? - HK

This might be old news, but I don't call tech support much. I called them a couple of days ago, and the automated voice told me it may be international. I am pretty sure the woman was from India. Last year, I used to only get local boys on the phone for that sort of thing. How long has this been going on? I wonder what sort of impact it had on our tech support guys.

when I need to call the HD, it's at the very end of my shift (like 2 a.m.), and I get to speak with someone I cannot understand and who, in turn, does not understand ME! Then they say they will "look into it", I thank them, finish my shift, and go to bed.
Before I know it, some ding-dong is calling me at 7 or 8 a.m. about the call to the HD. PLEASE!!! I just got in bed at 3:30!! LEAVE ME ALONE!! I need sleep, surprising as that seems. If I can manage to convey that to Ding-Dong without snapping his head off, I count myself as lucky. He says, "Oh, sorry.: which I take to mean "we won't call you at an ungodly hour (relative to my shift).
Guess what? 2 HOURS LATER THEY CALL AGAIN!!! They have questions about my original question. I can feel my MModal ulcer growing as I speak. Several times I have to say "what did you say?" or "beg pardon?". After 10 minutes of that, I finally said "Look, I'm really trying to be nice, but I just cannot understand what you're saying. Can you arrange for someone to call me who actually speaks English I can understand?"
Two hours later, I get another call. Same guy. I decided it would be better just to block the HD temporarily on my p hone before I decide to bury the hatchet --- in someone's head!
