SoftScript - Positive experience so far - New Hire

Posted: Dec 20, 2010

With all the negative posts on here, I'd like to add a positive post.  I was recently hired by SoftScript, starting training this week, and so far I am really impressed.  I had read posts on here that caused me a great deal of concern over my decision, but so far so good.

They have been on top of their game as far as the recruitment process.  Everything I was told would happen did happen, and very quickly and professionally.  Everything setup and ready to go in a matter of a few days, and this just before Christmas.  Within a week from hire date and I will have been through the hiring process, trained, and working.  I can't tell you how happy that makes me.Smile

I was instructed to study account specifics for my two assigned accounts before training as well as a few other things, and I am blown away by the ease yet sophistication of the account specifics access.  They make it a breeze to locate specific areas within the account specifics in case one needs a quick refresher on specific topic, i.e., addendums, allergies, etc.  Also easy to access samples, lists, etc.

If the above is any indication of their platform, I am going to be one very happy camper.  Not to mention that I will be getting straight transcription at a decent rate, which was a half-cent lower than I would have liked but the straight transcription more than makes up for that not to mention the evening and weekend incentives; plus they offer line incentives as far as production and I believe quality incentives (?) and yearly reviews.

I'll keep you posted in how things go.  If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me an email.

HAPPY HOLIDAYSWink

You started at a good time. The production managers are in place now, sm - LTMT

so you have someone to directly talk with to address any concerns you have. The holidays will be over soon so the work "famine" will end, and everything should settle down. I do believe it is a good company, although when I went for days on end with no work I wasn't so sure, plus I would send emails and never get an answer. :( Fortunately, I now have a PM and she set me up with 2 additional accounts and actually listened to me, so I am quite hopeful and optimistic for the future.

Welcome to the company ... glad it is going so well for you. :-)

Welcome aboard!! I have been working for them going on a year now and like you, I have found SS a very positive experience. I have great accounts and the managers that were just put in place are a big bonus. The straight transcription is really nice; I am making more now working 8 less hours a week when I was doing ASR. Not only am I fortunate to have a job but one I like and can make a decent living too. Like you, I am a happy camper and don't plan on leaving. Again, welcome aboard and if you have any questions, feel free to email me; it would be nice to "meet" someone else working there as well.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!! Lets all hope 2011 is a better year for us all!!

I've been with them since 11/29 and really like what I see. I am having a tough time making a decent hourly wage, however. One of my accounts is a bit of a dog. Applying demos for each patient by looking at schedules (not ADT) and then the note may only be 10 or 20 lines. It's tough, but there are two other accounts that I can make a fairly decent wage at. All in all a pretty good experience so far. I'm tired though....been doing this for 25 years and never worked this hard for such little financial gain. It takes some getting used to.

I must say though, I'm glad to have a job and my experience with my team leader has been very, very positive. I just wish I was 20 years younger and could withstand the wear and tear on my body.

Hope you all have a great holiday season!

SS should use this thread as an advertisement - It is almost as if.....

..... it were written by the SoftScript PR Department themselves.

I think I will run right over and apply today!

I also have had a positive experience overall and the pay is decent. I have worked there since May and with a few days of no work I got scared and went to part-time and picked up another full-time job which paid more training wage and had a sign on bonus, but with the ASR after traniing at 0.04 some days I don't even make minimum wage now. With my primary at SS straight typing I can straight type over 200 lines per hour. I made a grave mistake in trying to make up for no work a few days here and there. Qmanagers have tried to help find work and now with my PM, I am hoping the new year brings fewer NNJA. I would be willing to work any account for straight typing. Happy New Year to you all.

Yes, this is not what I experienced with them. And, even if there is no work, you are expected to stay right there and repeatedly check for a report to come through during their slow times (a lot of them too). I always wondered if that was legal, since we were not getting paid. The other thing is trying to do accounts you don't know and still get a minimum wage line count. On the account they gave me, I seldom got the same doctor other than in that day and then maybe weeks later. Bogus posts .. too much money paid to the "top end" and unreal expectations. High turnover too.

My Positive Experience With Another Medical Must
Aug 16, 2014

I'm leaving my weekend part-time position with Another Medical Must only because I'm going to be working as a pet sitter/dog walker on weekends starting next weekend.  The owner of Another Medical Must has posted the vacancy here on MT Stars, and I would just like to say that she is wonderful to work for.  I've been slowly phasing out of MT work the past couple of years since I now work full time at our university and only need to supplement my full time income with a fe ...

Are There Any Transcenders Willing To Share Their Positive Experience?
Jan 29, 2010

Maybe I'm the eternal optimist.  My eyes are wide open, and I've been through previous crappy merger.  Maybe The Worst Case will indeed happen.  I guess it's like MQ, the ship of misery where everyone (including me) stayed and stayed and stayed for numerous reasons.  I finally got off only to find a few yrs later a new merger with Transcend.  BTW, the number I  heard on conferences was that with MDI-MD, Transcend was now with 1200 MLS/TLs.  Just ...

SoftScript Something Positive
Nov 17, 2014

I wanted to post something positive.   I've been working for SS for a few months now, and I love it.   Been transcribing 22 years, back when WordPerfect was cutting edge!  I've worked for MANY services (MQ, HealthScribe, EDiX, M*Modal, just to name a few), 1 major hospital.  Have been MT, QA, VR, supervisor, and everything in between.   I say this not to brag, but so you know I have plenty to compare SS to.    The work is great and always there.   Pay has never been late, nor i ...

Softscript - Any Experience
Aug 03, 2011

Does anyone have any experience working for SoftScript?  I see in their ad that they don't send work overseas, which is very important to me.   Are they a good company to work for?   Do they have steady work, on time pay, good line rates, and, most importantly, treat their MTs well?   I am considering applying with them and would like to get some honest feedback from anyone who has or is currently working for them.  I want to know the good and the bad!  I also want to know if they hav ...

SoftScript: My Not So Good Experience
Dec 05, 2010

So I was hired by SoftScript 2 wks ago and completed training which was not bad. Was put on 2 clinic accts and had work for 2 days and no work since! Emails from company saying volume is low, have patience, yada yada. THEN I see that they are posting ads on mtjobs.com for more MTs! Flip me out! Not enough work for the MTs they have yet continue to hire more! I believe they are hiring just to cover for the holidays, which really is Nasty and Underhanded. My emails asking them what is going o ...

Offered 8 Cpl At SoftScript For 20 Years Experience.
Jan 05, 2011

Has anyone said that was not enough and have them counter offer with more?  I don't plan on working for SS (I saw way too many complaints on the other board about them), but what about future offers which I suspect will not be any higher?  I saw on the resume board what I consider way too many willing to work for 7 cpl with plenty of experience.  Is it likely they will pay more when others are willing to work for so much less?  And many of these 7 cpl were IC.  Al ...

Something Positive To Say
Mar 27, 2010

I get on this site every now and then and it is so disheartening to see so many people frustrated with their employers.  I work for two different companies and I have to say I love them both.  I work for OSi and I work for All Type.  Both treat me fairly, respond rapidly to questions and are nice employers.  I've always been paid on time, they both understand emergencies and I make a good income from each.  There are good companies and there are nice people to work ...

TTD- Anything Positive On Them?
May 23, 2012

Hi, I am new to this board, but have been searching jobs here.  I applied to TTD and received new-hire package.  I have been looking here at all the negative comments about them before actually figuring out what I want to do with them.  My question is, are there any positive comments about them at all?  I may have an opportunity later this summer at a job locally and have a job currently, but not sure if I want to hop into this if they don't pay.  I don't want ...

Anything Positive?
Dec 31, 2012

I'm currently a student with a nearing graduation date. I'm getting quite discouraged lately because from what I have been researching and finding on forums is that basically there is not enough work out there to make ends meet. Something Positive
Jun 22, 2013

I just wanted to mention something positive about MT, my experience.  There are a lot of negatives posted about the MT field on this board, and I'm not discounting anybody's experience, as, yes, there have been changes in this field, and some of those changes have hit people hard and are not fair.  I just wanted to give encouragement to people who like MT that there are some positive things/companies still going on.  I have 7 years of experience.  I graduated from C ...

Some Positive Words, Please!
Dec 30, 2009

Man, I can see the changes in the transcription industry (admittedly negative changes) have really gotten us down and we're stuck in a mire of complaints, bad feelings and feeling tired and fed up!  I feel the same way, and I feel that greed and the economy are to blame.  But sometimes you just need to hear a positive word to make it through the day, or through the week.  Here is mine - I am thankful that I do not have to spend money on work clothes and ga ...

Sure Could Use Some POSITIVE Energy
Nov 25, 2010

Not everyone is unhappy with MT work right now.  Lots of times this board is filled with much negativity and I think it is a disservice to each other.  Sometimes we need to vent, but sure would like to see people with more positive things that are happening in their life post on here, and not just read on here.  I think it is unfair to dissuade newcomers to the profession.  Give them an accurate vision of what it is like, both pros and cons.  But, I think it's wron ...

Can We Have Something Positive For A Change?
Oct 17, 2011

Seriously, all I read about here are how MT sucks. It's horrible. Get out while you can.   I'm new to this field. This talk is very disheartening. Reading these threads even makes me work less because it feels pointless. So, please, can I have some positives? Something to show me that I can live off this line of work. On A POSITIVE Note
May 20, 2012

I know it's rare for this board if, heaven forbid, anybody put anything positive on here. I've complained on here just like everyone else about low pay, low work, etc., but the bottom line for me is: I love the company I work for and have a great supervisor; they let me know from time to time that I am appreciated and let me know I was missed when I am gone (on vacation or whatever); they do their best to make sure I have enough work; they do thoughtful things, such as send birthday ...
