I recently was hired by them. Thought they were very nice, but extremely unorganized. I was told I needed to review my feedback every day before beginning live jobs. I did my first days' quota of jobs and waited for feedback..after a few days I emailed asking why I didn't have feedback. I was told to contact tech support which I did who was suppose to reset my password and fix the problem. This did not work. After 6 days, I still had no feedback and could not continue working. I also was told if I was interested in straight typing versus VR work, to let them know. I said I was interested and was told no more straight typing IDs were being handed out. After no communication or help with my feedback, I resigned. Five hours after I resigned, there is a post on this forum for a straight typing job with them.
There are lots of nasty threads on here about this company. I'm not being nasty. The few people I interacted with were very nice, but never seemed to help me with my issue of no feedback. For a week I sat unable to move forward working.
If that is any indication of how they pay their people, I'm glad I resigned. I would not pursue a job with them. I think you will be sorry, but that is my opinion.
I worked as a QA editor on Chartnet and was one who was terminated. I am still - owed 3 paychecks. sm

The reason I'm owed 3 checks is because of the long delay in getting paid. By the time I saw no money coming 6 weeks had gone by. For me, I had no training and had to wing it. I also had no feedback as to whether I was doing something wrong or not. I'm still waiting for my check. I got an email that some checks were stuck in a print spooler and the owner was figuring it out and that the checks were in the mail. I don't know whether to believe that or not. That's my experience with TTD (Transcription Doctors) and I have to say I can't recommend them.

The owner of this company is a fast talker who has an excuse for everything that goes wrong. You are better to be unemployed than work for this company. I know because I worked there a very short time...and quickly found out the truth!
Excuse my French, but that is just "crap" that - fed-up MT

she owes you 3 paychecks. Don't let her get away with it. Hit her where it hurts--her pocketbook. Inform the IRS how she is withholding income from her employees but claiming it for herself. Call her clients and inform them that she does not pay her MTs. She doesn't care if you get paid but she will care if she doesn't get paid. Good-luck to you and get your money!
Just one flaw in that plan. - destinyisntfree

No one is an employee. Everyone is an IC, and the IRS has told several people in similar situations that it is a civil matter and belongs in small claims court.
Believe me, if the owner is not paying her employees, - fed-up MT

she is probably not claiming taxable income on the money either. Imagine the owner telling the IRS the checks got stuck in the printer.

with all the nonpayment and other issues listed about this company, I do not know why they are still allowed to post jobs on this board. This seems to be just one of many companies that are bringing down the MT industry, but with all the negative postings, I would assume there is enough evidence to assume they are pretty greedy and shady.
I feel badly for anyone in this industry who as a hardworking, deligent professional has not been paid and/or paid so horribly and is treated so really badly. Hope this company will either wake up and treat MTs a bit better or fold so their MTs can move on to something more conducive to their wellbeing.
3 cpl - cannot get much more negative than that

Since they stressed it was an IC position, I sent them a resume. Was contacted by them and I sent them MY vendor rates (because if you are an IC you are a vendor and don't have to accept 3 cpl). Guess they aren't willing to pay for quality work since I never heard back from them.
People need to STOP taking 3 cpl jobs. That's the only way the rates are going to change.

For many years, I've been reading messages with the greatest emphasis on QUALITY! And as the years have passed and both the AAMT and technology took a stronghold of the industry, the demands (MTSO) and yields (MT) for quality have increased yet the line rate has continued to plummet. In the late 1970s, you used a typewriter (no Internet and I believe no Stedmans), there was no Internet, and if it wasn't listed in your local phone book then it wasn't your problem. At the time, the line rate was from 5 to 6 cpl for gross lines (which is between 7.2 and 9 cpl for a 65-keystroke line, depending upon whether or not formatting is included). What you did during the hour was mostly transcribe ... what about now?
It took many years for it to finally sink in that as far as MT does, you're going to get what you pay for, and I think more MTs need to do the same. Having pride in the quality of one's work is admirable, but it doesn't put food on the table and it doesn't keep a roof over your head.
Quality, turnaround, and price ... pick 2!

Not only do you have to wait for a paper check via snail mail, but (1) pay will always be 5 weeks behind and (2) you never know when to expect payment since there is no professional payroll in place. Even though they give set pay dates, the owner does payroll (herself) when it is convenient for her. I continue to work there because I use the money, which is NEVER more than $200, for extra food in the house. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A JOB WHERE YOU CAN DEPEND ON PAY!

I have nothing but horrible things to say about this company. I am on the flip side. I work QA for another company that subcontracted some work to TTD. The work was supposed to come back to us QA and ready to upload to the client. Amy assured us that Dawn would check it..so we reluctantly tried this. The work they produced was nothing short of trash. We went on for about a month and then cut ties with them because they were so unprofessional and unorganized. Shortly after that we hired 3 of the MTs that were on the account from TTD. They had left for the same reason everyone else is stating. They were not getting paid and TTD had the nerve to blame them not getting paid on our service. They have been going on this way for years now. Amy makes sure she gets paid and then pays everyone when it is convenient for her.
Use some common sense, look how many ads they post about work. It's obvious they have a high turnover. Anyone that runs a business should be able to pay payroll and not have to wait 6 weeks because they haven't gotten paid from their account. This company is nothing but a parasite to other companies. Not run well enough to have their own accounts.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I have contacts at Chase and have heard they are near ending the contract with TTD because of the poor quality work they produce.
Sorry you had that experience - destinyisntfree

I work as a QA for TTD, and I know that I go over every report I receive from an MT with a fine tooth comb, but I cannot say whether every other account is done the same way.

SoftScript - Positive Experience So Far Dec 20, 2010With all the negative posts on here, I'd like to add a positive post. I was recently hired by SoftScript, starting training this week, and so far I am really impressed. I had read posts on here that caused me a great deal of concern over my decision, but so far so good.
They have been on top of their game as far as the recruitment process. Everything I was told would happen did happen, and very quickly and professionally. Everything setup and ready to go ...
My Positive Experience With Another Medical Must Aug 16, 2014I'm leaving my weekend part-time position with Another Medical Must only because I'm going to be working as a pet sitter/dog walker on weekends starting next weekend. The owner of Another Medical Must has posted the vacancy here on MT Stars, and I would just like to say that she is wonderful to work for. I've been slowly phasing out of MT work the past couple of years since I now work full time at our university and only need to supplement my full time income with a fe ...
Are There Any Transcenders Willing To Share Their Positive Experience? Jan 29, 2010Maybe I'm the eternal optimist. My eyes are wide open, and I've been through previous crappy merger. Maybe The Worst Case will indeed happen. I guess it's like MQ, the ship of misery where everyone (including me) stayed and stayed and stayed for numerous reasons. I finally got off only to find a few yrs later a new merger with Transcend. BTW, the number I heard on conferences was that with MDI-MD, Transcend was now with 1200 MLS/TLs. Just ...

I got the site info from a friend that has been doing transcription work for many years. She has given me some leads, but as of now, nothing! Something Positive To Say Mar 27, 2010I get on this site every now and then and it is so disheartening to see so many people frustrated with their employers. I work for two different companies and I have to say I love them both. I work for OSi and I work for All Type. Both treat me fairly, respond rapidly to questions and are nice employers. I've always been paid on time, they both understand emergencies and I make a good income from each. There are good companies and there are nice people to work ...
TTD- Anything Positive On Them? May 23, 2012Hi, I am new to this board, but have been searching jobs here. I applied to TTD and received new-hire package. I have been looking here at all the negative comments about them before actually figuring out what I want to do with them. My question is, are there any positive comments about them at all? I may have an opportunity later this summer at a job locally and have a job currently, but not sure if I want to hop into this if they don't pay. I don't want ...

Anything Positive? Dec 31, 2012I'm currently a student with a nearing graduation date. I'm getting quite discouraged lately because from what I have been researching and finding on forums is that basically there is not enough work out there to make ends meet. Something Positive Jun 22, 2013I just wanted to mention something positive about MT, my experience. There are a lot of negatives posted about the MT field on this board, and I'm not discounting anybody's experience, as, yes, there have been changes in this field, and some of those changes have hit people hard and are not fair. I just wanted to give encouragement to people who like MT that there are some positive things/companies still going on. I have 7 years of experience. I graduated from C ...
Some Positive Words, Please! Dec 30, 2009Man, I can see the changes in the transcription industry (admittedly negative changes) have really gotten us down and we're stuck in a mire of complaints, bad feelings and feeling tired and fed up! I feel the same way, and I feel that greed and the economy are to blame. But sometimes you just need to hear a positive word to make it through the day, or through the week. Here is mine - I am thankful that I do not have to spend money on work clothes and ga ...

Sure Could Use Some POSITIVE Energy Nov 25, 2010Not everyone is unhappy with MT work right now. Lots of times this board is filled with much negativity and I think it is a disservice to each other. Sometimes we need to vent, but sure would like to see people with more positive things that are happening in their life post on here, and not just read on here.

Can We Have Something Positive For A Change? Oct 17, 2011Seriously, all I read about here are how MT sucks. It's horrible. Get out while you can.
I'm new to this field. This talk is very disheartening. Reading these threads even makes me work less because it feels pointless. So, please, can I have some positives? Something to show me that I can live off this line of work.

On A POSITIVE Note May 20, 2012I know it's rare for this board if, heaven forbid, anybody put anything positive on here.
I've complained on here just like everyone else about low pay, low work, etc., but the bottom line for me is:
I love the company I work for and have a great supervisor; they let me know from time to time that I am appreciated and let me know I was missed when I am gone (on vacation or whatever); they do their best to make sure I have enough work; they do thoughtful things, such as send birthday ...

Trying To Stay Positive Looking For Job Aug 22, 2014I have graduated a year and a half ago from school, have my CPC-A and I am not having any luck finding a job. I have applied to so many jobs and I get the same answer all the time of needing at least 2 to 3 years of experience. While I am trying to be patient, I feel my skills are being lost. You HAVE to be able to code every day in order for guidelines to cement in your brain and to become aware of changes. I do practice by doing the Optum Code This! scenarios, (which I ...
POSITIVE Tips For A New MT Please Sep 21, 2014Hello,
I will be starting a full-time transcription job October 7th. I have about 3 years experience in medical transcription, but have never worked for straight production pay, never worked from home, and have never transcribed 8 hours a day, every day.
I have been reading these forums and have read all of the negative thoughts about getting into medical transcription. That's not what I'm looking for. I would like tips for starting with a new company, new dic ...
SoftScript Something Positive Nov 17, 2014I wanted to post something positive. I've been working for SS for a few months now, and I love it. Been transcribing 22 years, back when WordPerfect was cutting edge! I've worked for MANY services (MQ, HealthScribe, EDiX, M*Modal, just to name a few), 1 major hospital. Have been MT, QA, VR, supervisor, and everything in between. I say this not to brag, but so you know I have plenty to compare SS to. The work is great and always there. Pay has never been late, nor i ...
Positive Attitude, What Positive Attitude Jan 08, 2015I used to be a person with such a positive attitude, always smiling, taking the good with the bad and never letting the bad get me down. Since all the recent changes at Mmodal going back several years, I've become more negative, more cynical, more frustrated, and more sarcastic. I no longer care about the quality of a report when I get a dictator that obviously no longer cares about his/her patient. You know that dictator that has the nerve to call on his/her cell phone wh ...
Trying To Stay Positive Jun 08, 2015Here it is the beginning of the work week. Oh how I wish I would have won the lottery.
I wish I could have a Monday that was not all crappy dictators. It seems like the week takes forever and my 2 days go by so fast. I remember when I actually enjoyed, maybe even loved my job. Need to be positive and push for those lines. Getting up and knowing that you have MOT from now until ? doesn't help.
