Are there any Transcenders willing to share their positive experience? - Got enough work regularly FT?

Maybe I'm the eternal optimist. My eyes are wide open, and I've been through previous crappy merger. Maybe The Worst Case will indeed happen. I guess it's like MQ, the ship of misery where everyone (including me) stayed and stayed and stayed for numerous reasons. I finally got off only to find a few yrs later a new merger with Transcend. BTW, the number I heard on conferences was that with MDI-MD, Transcend was now with 1200 MLS/TLs. Just what I heard.

Anyway, is everyone just hanging on at Transcend the same way they were with MQ? I didn't leave the Q because of no work. I always had work, same with MDI. I will just be amazed if truly all 1200 or 1800, however many MLS are with Transcend are actually STAYING when there is no work. This just doesn't add up. Anyway, time will tell. I'm like the other poster, choosing to see the glass half empty. Makes my life happier overall. If all these things happen and the sky is indeed falling, well, then I will deal with it when it does.

I'm eager to hear from MLSs like the one below who shared her positive experience - please? Thanks!

Not to sound like a broken record (surely I'm dating myself with that comment) but for those who truly are suffering from lack of work, and there isn't something else going on that you're not telling us... you need to talk to your supervisors about getting moved to an account that has plenty of work, and if they're no help, go higher. And then go higher than that if you need to.

And... for the umpteenth time, I am NOT a suit! Just another minion, with as much work as she can possibly handle.

Recognized my writing style, did ya? :) Yeah, it's me, Her Crankiness, not posting under my normal identity for reasons you can surely discern if you think about it.... (Word that starts with a b and ends with a-n-n-e-d. And just saying that may subject me to that fate yet again.)

But seriously... I was personally told by **** that anyone who hasn't got enough work, and can't get their situation resolved through normal channels, is welcome to call her directly.

So if you haven't got enough work, and your immediate chain of command is not responding, look up **** number and call her. Or e-mail her. She told me candidly that this sort of thing might not be the best use of her time--but she wants to know about it, and she WILL do something about it.

Just a couple of weeks ago (before my primary account migrated to BeyondTXT) I was running low on work. Since my secondary had already migrated but I hadn't been trained yet on the new platform, in a matter of just a few minutes I had been added to the pool for another account that was still on the same platform as me, e-mailed some sample reports, and given the link to the account instructions.

THAT is how quickly it should happen if there's work available on another account in your region, on the same platform. If you have to be transferred to somebody else's region or change platforms, of course it wouldn't happen that quickly.

Speaking of BeyondTXT... again, a disclaimer, I'm on my 4th day on the platform, and only doing straight typing (so far) but you know what? I LIKE it, for the most part. I am given to understand (by some people) that when we go to speech wreck I will not like it at all. There are a few things that annoy me (such as how LONG it takes for the blue I to cough up its screen, and if you make the mistake of having the audio file playing when you click the blue I, it gets stuck and won't stop so then you have to rewind it) but I'm learning the shortcut keys, adjusting my expansions for the BXT command keys, and already I am almost back up to my previous LPH speed.

And yes... YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY. :)

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I'm a she. I appreciate hearing this and don't believe that you and you alone are the 1 (out of however many Transcend MTs)who is atypical. My experience w/ MDI has been similar to yours at Transcend - relatively steady work either on primary or with other accounts as needed and going to wherever I need to go to get work. I'm sure some would insist my experience is atypical. Well then, I sure wish more atypical MTs would start posting in spite of the flaming/being called suits/being disbelieved. THANK YOU!

I'm not a Transcender, but I do work for another MTSO that gets trashed here on a regular basis. I've experienced none of the situations those poster describe and feel obligated to post to that effect; I honestly feel at every MTSO it depends on your account and your account manager as to how well one is able to do.

Whenever I post about my positive experience with my employer, I'm called a liar (yeah, whatever, lol!), a "suit," a "plant," a "cheerleader" and just about every other negative thing you can think of.

Now I only hop on and post if there is a preponderance of negative postings. I still suspect with the case of my MTSO it's ONE poster using several different names to make her rants seem more viable.

Checking the MQ board, once in awhile happy campers pipe up over there, too.

Again, I believe it's all dependent on the account to which you are assigned and the account manager on how well one is capable of succeeding with any MTSO. Sometimes we get lucky; sometimes we get sent down the river.

than go over my ROM's head. She sends out some general hateful emails and makes life miserable enough as it is. (Nothing personal, emails sent to all under her reign). Going over her head would be a fateful mistake.

Was there a problem with your cranky name? Yes, it is very easy to figure out it is you.

From what I have read on here, your situation is unique. Somebody has to have a positive experience. It just is not me.

However, I have a job interview on Monday and can keep applying until something better turns up.

To have a positive experience at Transcend, I feel you should be congratulated because you certainly have a lottery-type experience with a company where most of the employees are losers.

I always recognize them, and I honestly believe you believe every word you post. I followed your posts during your trepidation about the merger with Transcend and I've followed your posts since the merger. I've no reason to believe you're being anything other than totally honest in what you post about your experience.

Yes, mileage may always vary. I ADORE my MTSO, yet probably 40-50% of the MTs here would trash them in a heartbeat. Like you with Transcend, I'm not saying their horror stories are not true; I'm saying MY experience has been different.

I totally get where you're coming from when you post. I don't consider you a "suit" or a "cheerleader," just an MT telling her story in real time as it happens.

You go, girl...some of us enjoy your posts (although I do miss the heck out of that lizard picture!!!)

I LOVE reptiles (unless they're poisonous, lol!), and lizards are my favorite. All sorts of lizards run rampant over my parents acreage and I'm always trying to catch one (of course, they also have rattlesnakes up the wazoo, so I always make sure whatever I'm trying to grab has 4 little legs and not a "snake in the grass," haha).

See, I'm not the only one who appreciates your posts, CB. Sunshine State MT also enjoys them. Don't hide or let the Negative Nellies keep you from posting. My gosh, we've all got opinions and we're entitled to express them, especially when they're done as thoughtfully and honestly as your posts are.

I post my opinions; whether people like it or not, I do it politely and in a civil manner, and try to stay upbeat.

IRL, I fear I'm a lot of these ladies nightmare...The tattooed, pierced punk chick with the different colored hair that has a brain, lol! I probably get more open-minded reception on this board than if they were dealing with me face to face, lol! It's me, it's who I am, love me or hate me. And most people who give me a chance love me because I'm a good person. So, you go on with your bad self and keep on posting your positive experiences with Transcend. I *heart* my MTSO and half the people on here have had bad experiences with them. As you say, "Your mileage may vary," and it's very true. I had a horrible experience with Landmark, but most posters here love 'em. One man's meat is another man's poison, or whatever that expression is.

Now, both Sunshine State MT and I (and I'm sure many others) expect to see you back and posting regularly, and under your usual name.

You GO, girl! I'm not a punk rock chick, but some people look at me sideways when I say I'm a Moody Blues fan, and people not of a certain age don't even know who the Moody Blues are.... Just as I have thought, TLs and Mgrs have their favorites. Once you cross them or go over them, off with your head. I find that very interestng seeing as though I only 6 hours of work last week and 0.5 of that was training on the time tracking system. :)

This is truly bizarre - some MTs cannot meet their pay period requirements and others are getting bonuses. Blows me away. There is obviously an infrastructure breakdown!!!!

We have not had enough typing in our region since the week after Christmas. I've been keeping all the daily emails that shows how much (or in our case how little or none) work there is in case I have to file for unemployment. Mine is a straight typing region, no VR. They are telling us to flex or take PTO. This is totally ridiculous to have some MTs getting bonuses to get the work out while the rest of us cannot meet the quotas.

Same situation over at the Q. Some of the MTs have ample work and OT, others have continual NJA yet the Q cannot seem to get things organized enough where the workflow is equal so everyone can prosper.

Does everyone think it's just poor management, or could it possibly be an underhanded way to force certain MTs to quit for whatever reason?

I am constantly hunting work. I work holidays and weekends hoping for better work levels. I have started working a split shift to see if I can get better workload. Even this past weekend, except for early Saturday morning, I hunted work all weekend long. It seems like every work type is treated as a "stat." If it does not go out immediately (within a couple of hours), secondary and tertiary workers are invited on. I know TAT is really, really important, but I cant stay on the system 18 hours a day looking for work. Just my opinion. I know I am not the only one in this boat so I try not to complain too much.

My primary is a 24-hour TAT and they jobs do not go read until after that. The jobs are being typed as fast as they are in the system. Today I have only typed 5 reports and that is all that will be avaiable to me. It is like I am glued to this computer and house and it is absolutely ridiculous waiting for work that will not show up !!!!

Would you please share your experience working at Keystrokes. Is it as bad as posted on here, or are there any "happy" MTs there? Are you able to work your full shift and get your line counts? If not, how many different accounts do you have to work on to make enough money to live on? Are their platforms hard to learn and do you have to switch back and forth on those too? The VR cannot even understand these ESLs, so I am not understanding why they would be placed in VR. I mean really, this VR sucks. It leaves out a lot of easy words that it didn't seem to catch on the English speaking docs also. I seem to be spending a lot of time typing these ESL VR jobs instead of editing them. Since PTers don't earn PTO, how do you handle taking days off? I'm considering a schedule that will involve most weekends (to supplement my FT job). At Webmedx it kept a running tab of your lines on the top of the page and you could kind of pace yourself. I really liked that. You will be "offered" lots and lots of OT every day, and asked to mail in your committments for every weekend. It is not "mandatory", but if you do not do it, you will be written by your SM asking you to. Same thing. So tiring, day in and day out. As you transition to Nuance, you will have training jobs going to QC. This will count against your QC percentage and affect your ability to earn any increased increment in line rate based on your quality.
