Anything positive about SoftScript? - 14yrRadMT

Got an email to take their test for radiology. Just wondering if anyone had a positive experience or a bad one? I need info. Working for Nuance now after a merger. TOTALLY SUCKS! Got to find something new. TIA!!

I worked for them for only a short time - my supervisor made it unbearable unfortunately, b/c there are pros to working there. I know others who work there who have great supervisors, or PMs as they are called. It is all straight typing and they supposedly do not outsource. I say supposedly b/c they told me that, although others on this board say they do (I personally do not think they do). There are many, many different accounts with very different acct specs that are long and involved, and a lot of physician-specific specs, which makes it difficult; however, I would think Radiology would be better. The pay is decent by today's standards and there is a tiered bonus system in place (again, don't know how Radiology works - they may pay per report for that, not sure), and they pay a little more per line for weekend work, and one weekend day was required. They have a good database of sample reports from difficult dictators. The cons: Their proprietary software (Word-based) is the most outdated thing I have EVER worked with. It is at least 10 years behind the times. It is easy to use but involved. On some accts, you actually have to copy and paste header info into the actual document. The PTO is the worst in the industry and new hires are expected to work every holiday the first year. If there is no work during your shift, you are fully expected to make that time/lines up during that week.

My experience in Rad was far from a positive experience. Besides running out of work on a regular basis, old system, etc., it was a very negative work environment in general.....the worst I personally have ever encountered. I wish I had something positive to share with you, but I'd have to make something up. Good luck in your search!

say it was a negative work environment, b/c that was my experience. Constant harassing and threatening emails and expectation to sit by computer all day with no work and no pay for your time. If I made a mistake, I was treated like an idiot.

They always pay on time, sometimes early, so that $50 you earn nm - after no work will be on time. nm

Not everyone is unhappy with MT work right now. Lots of times this board is filled with much negativity and I think it is a disservice to each other. Sometimes we need to vent, but sure would like to see people with more positive things that are happening in their life post on here, and not just read on here. Two days in a row now of the worst ever ESL dictators. Sometimes this jobs just makes me want to SCREAM loudly but that won't solve the problem (s).
