On a POSITIVE note - shortie

I know it's rare for this board if, heaven forbid, anybody put anything positive on here.

I've complained on here just like everyone else about low pay, low work, etc., but the bottom line for me is:

I love the company I work for and have a great supervisor; they let me know from time to time that I am appreciated and let me know I was missed when I am gone (on vacation or whatever); they do their best to make sure I have enough work; they do thoughtful things, such as send birthday cards, gifts during MT week, Christmas, etc.; I really enjoy working from home as an employee (not an IC); they do not hover over me 24/7 and let me do my work and take my lunch breaks etc. when I want; etc., etc.

Also, I think QA sometimes gets kind of a bad rap. I'm sure there are a lot of QA who go overboard with the QA and think they're right about everything . . . but guess what . . . there are a lot of transcriptionists that are the same way. I think most QA just does the job they are hired to do and does the best they can; and I know it has to be stressful because of the criticism QA as a whole seems to get.

Anyway, I'm happy where I am, and my suggestion is that if you're not, find something else.

this is a terrific post. I've been literally getting sick to my stomach lately with panic wondering whether I should heed all the doomsday advice around here. Your post comes just in time to let me know I'm not the only one who enjoys my job. So thank you.

I absolutely love my job as well at USA Transcription Services. My boss is great and I get to pretty much set my own schedule.

Really, if you have nothing positive or constructive to say then don't say anything at all! (;

It's so good to see other people happy as well. I just wanted to add that I was in no way trying to blast others on here. I know every situation is different, and I know it's hard sometimes making ends meet, and we all need a place to vent our frustrations from time to time. Also, my company is all straight typing, no voice recognition/editing, so that's a big plus, too, so I don't have that to complain about but can certainly understand why one would in that situation.

My supe is great. My company is great. While I'm not showered with gifts, they do take into consideration my needs and do their best to meet them.

I appreciate them and they appreciate me, that spells SUCCESS in my book.

I also have a job I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! I choose my own hours, straight typing, very flexible TLs, no stress, no worries.

I get on this site every now and then and it is so disheartening to see so many people frustrated with their employers. I work for two different companies and I have to say I love them both. I work for OSi and I work for All Type. Both treat me fairly, respond rapidly to questions and are nice employers. Not everyone is unhappy with MT work right now. Lots of times this board is filled with much negativity and I think it is a disservice to each other. Sometimes we need to vent, but sure would like to see people with more positive things that are happening in their life post on here, and not just read on here. Two days in a row now of the worst ever ESL dictators. Sometimes this jobs just makes me want to SCREAM loudly but that won't solve the problem (s).
