CAN ANYONE COMMENT ON SOFTSCRIPT TO WORK FOR - homemt

Posts are from 2008 and up. Does anyone work for Softscript right now that can share information about this company? Straight typing or editing. What is the pay? Is there plenty of work? How much ESL? Thanks much!

Straight typing. There is currently plenty of work. I make 7 cents a line and have worked there for 3 years. Pay is by direct deposit and on time. Production manager and work flow managers are pleasant and respond to email. Very, very heavy ESL. I have worked for 2 other companies over the years, but SS seems to have more than their share of ESL which makes it difficult to make line count requirements. They do threaten to fire you if you don't make your line counts, but as they have high employee turnover I don't know if that ever happens. It does for sure affect your benefit status, though, as I have been dropped from full time to part time status. If you have insurance from a different source or have an exceptional ear for Punjabi, it is not the worst place to work.

What is the line requirement? Do they really drop you from full to part time if you don't meet it? Thanks.

I used to work there and they are still straight typing. I rarely ran out of work, but I do not know about now. They are strict for accuracy but the pay is pretty good.

She said 7 cents a line. I don't call that pay very good at all. - nm

Pay depends on experience and what type of work you are doing. I currently do all critical care at 8.5 cpl (9.5 on weekends). They also have production incentives (over 10,000 in pay period, you get another 1/2 cent for each 3000 lines over). I have never run out of work, and everyone I deal with is super friendly. I am very happy with them.

checking the QA box, it does not go through QA, right? I know we are not supposed to put in disparaging remarks, but would "speak up" or "stop mumbling" be considered a disparaging remark? I am so tired of these docs who mumble and cannot be understood...how else will they know we can't hear/understand them if we can't tell them...all they see is the nice finished product not what we have to go through to get them that. ...

Okay, so in my experience in trying to be compliant on making up time and "switching" swapping time when I had a funeral to attend. No problem picking up the times, but here is what happens. When I have had NJA or something happened which required a 30 min here or there I wanted to pick up and make up the hours. I have worked for the Q was not audited before (that I know of). I don't see anyone talking about the test itself or working coders or coding students bringing it up, so I will. I went to school for coding, got certified and could not find a job. I'm going to test this out myself the next time I use one. If this is true, sure would explain my slightly plummeting line count from usual no matter how hard I try. That would be some BS for sure. Makes you wonder why they make that "rule" that we are not allowed to make our own expanders from their standards!!!! AHA! I recently had 0.25 error in FIESA for having "complaining of lateral-sided pain" instead of "complaining of left lateral-sided pain." The comment that the reviewer made was "Downgraded as clear throughout the report." What does that mean exactly? I rarely ever see any comments at all from them. How long after end of pay period does Softscript usually pay? I'm fairly new and trying to adjust! It's the 8th and end of November pay hasn't posted yet - is it just me since I'm new?
