How long after end of pay period does Softscript usually pay? I'm fairly new and trying to adjust! It's the 8th and end of November pay hasn't posted yet - is it just me since I'm new? Whenever it is, it's okay - I'm not complaining - I'm just wondering so I can budget accordingly! I wasn't told anything about this at training or hiring and knew some helpful follks on here could help!

is disgusting, but I have to say the few cents I make are always paid on time, usually a day early. Hope you have your money by now.

I was swamped today. Last Thursday - nothing. Yesterday and today - very busy. It's ebb and flow. I'm actually hoping for a little down time tomorrow.....it's my Friday.

Even during the holidays I could eke out a living, although obviously the work flow does decrease. I have 2 accounts and run out of work every day. I can't live on 200 lines a day, but fortunately I have a part-time job that is not showing this amazing lack of work. My biggest gripe is the hiring of more MTs while we suffer, although the nonanswering of emails is also a major pet peeve. And where are these production managers I heard about? Of course they probably wouldn't answer emails either. Bah humbug.

just like that.....no work. I'm actually fine with it. I do have other doctors, but I really, seriously don't know how people can make a living with just a job at SS. I've only been there for a few weeks so I can't really judge, but I find it a bit sad that what we do and how well we do it has become just a cog in a giant corporate wheel.

I was running out of work BEFORE the holidays and no one seemed to care. Half of the time when I send an e-mail I get no response (except for that automated reply with the ticket number). I will soon be eligible for benefits and trying to stick it out until after the holidays to see if it gets better, but even if the work picks up, I hate their lack of communication and lack of caring. I don't need someone to hold my hand, but if I ask a question, I deserve the courtesy of a reply. I am beginning to understand why I read so many negative posts about the company before. :(

I checked back in this morning and voila....there was work. I worked all day and made about $8.50 an hour. Really? I know that might seem decent to some of you, but I live in California and sitting here for 8 hours chained to my computer for that kind of salary is very disheartening.

I have found the communication at SS to be quite good. I don't send a lot of e-mails, but we do instant message and when I have a question I can usually get an answer within minutes. I love my mentor and must say that I have learned a few things this past week that I didn't know. After 25 years you would think I know it all (hahaha!), but that is not the case.

So, the jury is still out on SS for me. Yesterday was better money wise, but it's still not a great salary no matter how you slice it.

I do like my accounts so that's a plus and they seemed to be busy today. I have to say that I am relieved to be off for the next two days. Phew......this answering to the man is for the birds. ;-)

I couldn't feed my dog on $8.50 an hour ... I understand. nm - Hope it gets better

I have noticed a significant decline in my line count with Softscript ever since their blooper that happened on MT week. I dont really understand how that has affected my line count so much but I used to type 23 jobs and get about 1000 lines. Now I type 23 jobs on the same accounts and get 700 lines. Something is wrong with this picture. I am looking for another job, I just feel like I'm wasting my time. ...

I noticed that every now and then that SoftScript advertises on the MT Job board for a pathology transcriptionist. I tried applying for that job once, but they said that they wanted "recent" experience and the last time I did pathology was in 2001. And yet, they keep advertising for that position. I've not been working for SS very long and have been doing QA for them. I was wondering if anyone who reads this board is a QA, or has been a QA, for SS and, if so, do they audit you? How strict are the audits? What happens if you don't make the score? I have a friend who used to work for SS a couple years ago and she said that she quit because the audits were "nitpicky." Have over 10 years experience, have applied twice, have left my shift to work open. Have nothing against me, great references. Their email address they provide on their website when submitting emails to returns stating not a working email/no longer exists...Not one reply back. Do not answer their phones. No response to application. Yet, every week, they post begging for people. IMO, companies like this, aren't worth 2 cents. If the people they hire ...

SoftScript has bait and switch listings up again. Please take a minute and read over recent posts regarding SoftScript's techniques to employ MTs. How many mentors and Q coordinators can they really need? They post these fictitious positions, hire as many people as they can for these positions, and a few days after being hired, no one will be the "right fit." Sounds very possible that SS will go the way of TRS and MDI. The posts below sound eerily similar to the TRS and MDI sagas. If I were a betting man, I’d wager that, like TRS and MDI, the company will fail/sell out and be absorbed by a bigger one. What does anybody know about a company called Softscript and what do they think -- I think Medical Transcriptionists are being ripped off. I have worked for 3 major transcription companies; and have watched my income steadily decline. I've been doing this work for 23 years and wish I knew how to do something else.
