But, they have an ad on MTjob board that is just hilarious and funny. They have a picture of a dog sitting on a lap top computer working and underneath the caption it says are you tired of your employer treating you like a dog. The dog even have on glasses. I am stiill laughing.

Even tho I've only been with SS for a very short time, my experience with them has been OUTSTANDING to say the least, which is a helluva lot more than I can say for the past three MTSOs I've worked for!!! I know there has been some banter on this message board about the "unprofessionalism" in their ads on MTJobs and that that it, in some sort of way, is testimony of that fact; however, I totally disagree!!! I think it speaks to the lighthearted, yet professional, way they conduct themselves and, IMO, that type of "personal touch" is VERY hard to come by in this day and age cuz, at most places, you're NOTHING but a name/log in ID/IM contact. I've been treated with the utmost respect...including the one of the VPs I had spoken with during my interview process.

There may be some of you that are not looking for a "family-type environment" and want to be left alone as far as just logging in and getting your work done, but, in my opinion, COMMUNICATION IS KEY and that is exactly what my experience has been up to this point.

Like I said, I haven't been there too long, but, when you know, you know and I truly believe that I've found a "home" at SS. One thing I LOVE about SS is that it's completely traditional transcription (no speech rec) and THEY DO NOT OUTSOURCE OVERSEAS, which is a hard thing to come about in this day and age.

Of course, this is just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth, but I have heard the same feedback from some of my former colleagues that have made the transition to SS.

Naturally, ALL MTSOs are gonna have their good points and bad points and it all depends on what it is you're looking for in an employer, so this is just something to sit back and think about cuz there's NO MTSO out there that is perfect, which I'm sure a ton of us are already well-aware of :/

it's always great in the beginning. just wait until the holidays when you have to work and there is no work. check back in 3 months and let's see how much you like it then. all sugar and sweetness to get you hired, then you're a nobody.

...and I totally do understand how work seems to die out just about EVERYWHERE around the Holidays and the frustration that puts EVERYONE under...even at the local hospitals...nature of the beast, I suppose. Like I said, this was just my personal experience so far being a relative "newbie" to the SS family, but the actual MTs/QAs that I talked to before I even applied with them had nothing but great things to say. I guess only time will really tell what will happen, but, as for right now, I am very satisfied with this MTSO and can see myself being here for the long haul...

I have noticed a significant decline in my line count with Softscript ever since their blooper that happened on MT week. I dont really understand how that has affected my line count so much but I used to type 23 jobs and get about 1000 lines. Now I type 23 jobs on the same accounts and get 700 lines. Something is wrong with this picture. I am looking for another job, I just feel like I'm wasting my time. ...

I noticed that every now and then that SoftScript advertises on the MT Job board for a pathology transcriptionist. I tried applying for that job once, but they said that they wanted "recent" experience and the last time I did pathology was in 2001. And yet, they keep advertising for that position. I've not been working for SS very long and have been doing QA for them. I was wondering if anyone who reads this board is a QA, or has been a QA, for SS and, if so, do they audit you? How strict are the audits? What happens if you don't make the score? I have a friend who used to work for SS a couple years ago and she said that she quit because the audits were "nitpicky." Have over 10 years experience, have applied twice, have left my shift to work open. Have nothing against me, great references. Their email address they provide on their website when submitting emails to returns stating not a working email/no longer exists...Not one reply back. Do not answer their phones. Sounds very possible that SS will go the way of TRS and MDI. The posts below sound eerily similar to the TRS and MDI sagas. If I were a betting man, I’d wager that, like TRS and MDI, the company will fail/sell out and be absorbed by a bigger one.
