When MTs ASK what you know about a company, I do appreciate the Good and the Bad. Please don't get Ugly here. Not all good about any of these services and what they have done to people and their jobs. We have low wages, difficult dictators, and platforms that are new and old. Personally, I want to know both sides before I make my own common sense decision. I appreciate any input other MTs have. The one post wanted to know about a company and then answered to the last of how great she felt because she got a positive and how she is so sick of the negative. You know then....find out for yourself and don't ask, OR just post that you ONLY want the good and the owner of the company's opinion.

The companies check here for their reputation. Some have been through every MT in the US! Don't tell you until after taking the test that they pay you 7 cents or 3 cents...so use your common sense. Greed has a need.

I think the person was just glad to hear SOMETHING positive about a company. By and large, the posts on this board ARE negative. When people are brave enough to post that they like a company and/or are happy with their job, they typically get torn to ribbons for either lying, living in a dream world, gloating, etc.

I don't think it's that she ONLY wanted to hear the good - just that it was a refreshing change that there actually WAS some good.

Not so if you have been in the business as long - as many.

What can be good about minimum wage, pennies a line, no benefits and the CEOs making a profit? Refershing change? Can't handle the truth, then don't ask, don't tell. Dream on.

From what has been in the news, I don't think the CEOs are making a profit either. nm - ex-MTSO

I have been an MT for almost 20 years. I currently work for one of the major MTSOs. I make a fair wage. Is it what it used to be? No. But it is still a fair wage, and benefits are available if needed with decent coverage at a fair price, as well. (We get ours through my husband as the premium is a little lower.)

I understand that many people do have a hard time in this industry, but not everyone hates it and not everyone is treated poorly by their employers. I love my job, I like the company I work for (most days - everyone has bad days), and I am sick to death of people like you attempting to speak for me and/or calling me a liar or saying inane things like "dream on" just because YOU are unhappy so of course everyone else in the world has to be unhappy, too.

Happiness is a choice. If you aren't happy, choose something else. And don't say you don't have any other choices - You ALWAYS have another choice...you just may not like it.

We only have 3.?? hours every pay period of PTO until after 4 years with the company. I was off last week and for each day for PTO I indicated 7 hours per day. This will give me 1 extra day of PTO over the year at 7 hours pay. I do not know if that is allowed, they may require us to indicate 8 if we took the whole day off. Will see what happens about that. Would you take a MT job straight transcription that pays 7 cpl 65 characters with spaces.
