Any input regarding Keystrokes? - MT

Posted: Sep 22, 2011

Any input regarding Keystrokes?  Good company or bad to work for.  I need some input as I am thinking about applying with them.  Thanks!

Works for me. - radMT

Some love it, some hate it. I personally love it, having recently escaped from the scum of the MT world, MQ. They actually seem to want their MTs to succeed and appreciate them - not used to that :)

Thanks - MT

Thanks for the reply. Will have to check it out!

Great company if - KSMT

It's a great company if you don't like getting paid on time, don't mind constantly changing pay dates and policies, and don't need insurance.

Not to mention pay cuts, no communication and - being treated like a 2nd class citizen

My advice is get a job at WalMart.

Almost forgot - KSMT

[ In Reply To ..]
I forgot running out of work or being so overwhelmed you are expected to work OT without getting paid for it.

Why, why why... - Happy KS

do U continue to work for them if ur so miserable?? There are a lot of people who would like to work there but can't due to no openings. Please find something more to ur liking so others can give KS a shot - I have a friend who would LOVE to take ur place. Just sayin'

Not your business. - Go ahead and make that

referral, you won't get that referral money.

Y'all are just hateful. - Peaches

Yikes!

Why is it hateful - KSMT

[ In Reply To ..]
Why is it hateful to post an honest response regarding very real problems I have had with KS?

No, not ''hateful'' - Just truthful...

KS is going down like everyone else. - EX KS

I am now an EX KS employee. I worked for them for 6 months and loved it. However, in that short time they changed the pay dates on me twice - one time without any warning. Then "overnight" they lost the account I was working on and they said they didn't have any warning. I found that funny considering 3 weeks before that they asked me for my computer confirugations (which I found out was so they could put me on a different account). They promised me a new account within 2 weeks and I never heard from them so I started calling and E-mailing. I called and E-mailed 4 people and threatened going to the umemployment office before they contacted me back. Then a bunch of stories started coming out about how they tried to contact me because they didn't have any opening and I didn't contact them back and they sent me E-mails that I never replied to. Why would I not respond to phone calls and E-mails about a job when I needed a job? So, according to them, they gave my jobs away. I'm sure there were no jobs to begin with. They finally put me on a different account and on the first day of training the girl training me told me she didn't even know why they put me on there because they didn't have any work for me. GREAT! So I started typing and this girl ripped every one of my reports to shreads and refused to take me off QA, which was absolutely ridiculous because I had several years of experience typing this specialty and was really good at it. This went on for a few more weeks. I got maybe 4 reports one night and then a few nights later they would send me another 4 or 5. They ripped every one of them apart, changing entire sentences and words to make it look like I was messing them up, but I wasn't. I know this girl just didn't want me there and she was going to do everything in her power to make sure I didn't pass QA so I wasn't taking from their work pool. Finally, after trying to be placed on a better account and repeatedly being told they had no other accounts available, I gave up and left a couple of weeks ago. My advice to anyone interested in them is to beware. I guarantee they'll change your pay dates and run out of work. If you work there and are happy with them then that is great for you. I was happy there once too.

Worked for them for a short period. I was - Former KSMT

more leary of the ultra positive postings by their supposed happy MTs (happyMT, happymommyof2, etc). I had the feeling they were just too happy to work there as an MT and way to hateful to others who didn't to be anything but someone with a very personal agenda.

Anyway, gave it a try. Easy to get a job there. I hadn't given up my existing job so it was easy to walk away. Did you think happy KSMT that maybe those posting negatives have not found another job yet or perhaps they have left? I didn't read in any of their posts that they are still there.

I don't think there would be so many negative posts if this happy person would not print her ultra positive posts and then slam the negative posts. I know I wouldn't have posted if I had not seen her again degrading others. Though I knew she could not keep from posting as she always does.

Sigh... - Happy KS

Yes, U really know a lot about me. Except for the fact I'm a guy and I have never posted before. Guess that shoots ur theory, huh? That would mean there must be more than ONE happy KS employee I would surmise. And I would just like those who are so miserable at this company to please leave so my friend and others could take their place - we'd ALL be happier then, wouldn't we? Women - sheesh.

I had an easy time getting a job at Keystrokes. - Love your jokes

[ In Reply To ..]
Why doesn't your friend use you as a reference? You sound so wonderful in your posts that I think they would hire immediately someone you recommended. After all, they have a high turnover and they are always hiring.
Give it a rest, please. - JordanMT

Enough with the KS bashing. I work for them too and like it very much. This place at least tries to work on their problems and help their employees, and these days that is quite unusual. Never posted before either but so tired of the bashing. So KS isn't the right fit for you - please try other companies, okay? Thank you.
KS works on their problems, that is a joke. - I was there many years and

what had gone on and still going on would shock you. I was there when there was a handful of employees, the bigger they get, the worse they get. Very under handed place to work for.

Then they come here and complain. They got what they wanted, searching for a reason to complain, seeing what they wanted to see, then they come here for attention.

Everyone needs somewhere to vent - obviously the survey did not change anything

I got what I wanted in the survey. - Glad I work there.

Can I Get Some Input On PTO Please.
Jul 11, 2011

We only have 3.?? hours every pay period of PTO until after 4 years with the company.  I was off last week and for each day for PTO I indicated 7 hours per day.  This will give me 1 extra day of PTO over the year at 7 hours pay.  I do not know if that is allowed, they may require us to indicate 8 if we took the whole day off.  Will see what happens about that.  I wish I could put 6 hours per day, leaving me more hours of PTO. We have 2 days paid sick time, which I have ...

Thanks For The Input
Jan 11, 2012

I am very happy to have found this forum. I thank you all for the input on companies. I worked for a company for three years and was frustrated to the point of going nuts. I broke three keyboards and threw books at the wall. I had never experienced this when I worked directly for a practice and had to leave there too. I messed up my left wrist trying to make the lines they expected and took 10-12 a day since their platform was so very slow. I ended up taking a medical month leave of absen ...

Need Some Advice And Input...
Jun 22, 2010

I recently started working PT for a company.   So far, everything has been great with them.  Great work to do, good line counts, pay is on time every time and accurate.  However, something in the back of my mind keeps bugging me.  They didn't ask me to fill out a W-9 form.  Is this normal for PT IC work?  I mentioned it to them and didn't get a reply back about it.    Perhaps, I'm just being paranoid, but I'd like to know your th ...

Input Wanted From My Fellow MQ'rs
Jun 10, 2010

I'm totally getting burned out at MQ.  If it's not the NJA with requests to change schedule, then it's the lack of primary and getting other unknown accounts slowing me down.  I've gone from full-time at MQ down to working part-time with another part-time job to make up lost income now for the past 7 months.  When I started MT'ing so many years ago, the pay was great and being able to set my own schedule was a real plus as well.  It was the ...

Above 120 minutes = 1 and 1/2 x 1.05 per minute I have over 15 years of experience.  I need to know if this can pay my bills but it is hard to gauge without knowing the account (how many templates/normals are used, if cherrypicking takes place, if the account is overstaffed or if there is working during the afternoon shift).  ...

Why Isn't ASR Programmed To Input Dates
Nov 10, 2010

I am doing a lot of cancer clinic notes today (very long reports).  They all have lots of dates in them due to the various tests and treatments the patients have had. This particular facility wants the dates typed out in XX/XX/XXXX fashion; however ASR types them out the long way, i.e., August 26, 2010, so I have to change them all to fit the client profile. It's rather annoying.  I figured that ASR was supposed to be formatted to be in line with the different client profiles. ...

Kinda Upset, Would Like Input

I've been working in an office for only about 3 months now after about 12 years in-home transcription.  It's a busy office for a doctor who is kind of a "superstar" in his field and I love it.  Here's the thing...  it's a new practice, the entire staff has been here for less than a year and we don't all have hardly any PTO saved up (less than a year and all...) and the doc is going to be closing up the office for 2 weeks to go on vacation.  Several of ...

Drs. Who NEVER Input Patient Names.
Jun 27, 2012

How annoying is that? There are a few doctors on my account that don't bother inputting the patient name into the demographics, don't spell it, don't give a date of service...they just say a name and start dictating. They do this for every report, and it's been that way since I started working here! I have a rule where I only try 2 spellings of the name to find the patient. Otherwise it gets pended. What do you guys do?     ...

Who Should I Address Petition To? Need Input.

I am increasingly disgusted and appalled over what this industry has turned into and what the big MTSOs are getting away with at the expense of our ranks.  I don't know if it will have any effect, but I would like to do something to try.  I would like to start a petition through Change.org and state our plight.  This would include the need for wage standards including a minimum wage mandate as well as the offshoring problem and how it is affecting our economy as well as us, f ...

Long Time MTs I'd Like Your Input Please
Apr 12, 2013

Remember the good old days when we had our own accounts and only signed with a service as "filler?" This is the third time that I have committed to working full time, signed the "Agreement" that yes, I will work for you full time hours, only to end up with under 20 hours for the month, or better yet sitting and waiting and waiting to start with now no full-time income coming in because I have committed to them to full time! Has anyone ever tried to be compensated for that time? If ...
