Received job offer there last week... - anon

They offered me 8 cpl as an employee. They only have 2nd and 3rd shift with set hours available. You have one account. Time spent training on their platform is unpaid (illegal) 8 cpl for holidays (illegal), NO PTO, and a platform I've never heard of. They didn't mention SR (appears to be straight transcription). They also offer IC positions at 9 cpl with same conditions as above. You must test at MT Test. Needless to say, I declined their offer. It may be worth it for the IC position as you wouldn't get paid for training, holidays, etc. anyway.

What TransPortal position were you applying for where the pay was 8 cpl as an employee and 9 cpl as an IC?
Thanks!
Great place for me - MerryMT

I enjoy working at TransPortal and have been there for nearly two years. Rarely run out of work and always paid on time by direct deposit. As long as you meet your production, they leave you alone to do your job. The other reply must have been for a specific position as that doesn't sound like the account I work on. Training was less than an hour so I didn't worry about compensation for it. As a matter of fact, their support person helped me with some computer issues. I think the other reply also referenced the same pay on holidays as being illegal. That is not illegal as long as you are not asked to work over 40-hours in a week. The traditional federal holidays are for federal governement employees, although traditionally honored by other businesses where appropriate.
I'm not applying for a position there but ... - anon

I don't care if the training IS just one hour - nobody better THINK about asking me to work for free. Not even one hour.
I think waaaaay more of myself than that and you should too. Your time (even one hour of it) is worth something - don't discount yourself to the point of working for nothing.
former TP, work was low on more than one occasion. Training took 3 hours unpaid. - sm

I'm sure this all depends on the system you will be required to work on also. I was offered 7 cents employee and 8 cents IC. The platform and accounts nothing to be desired.

I have worked for several transcription services and never been paid for training.
Wow, I bet that company is on the floor laughing - anon

WOW. Isn't that funny? I guess they do what they think they can get away with, with each person. No offence but I bet those companies are on the floor laughing they actually found someone to work for free.
I wouldn't DREAM of being trained free of charge. I was recently hired by a new company who paid me $14 an hour for the first full pay period, then I went to production. I guess it's a matter of what you're willing to accept.

Great people but never had enough work for an 8 hour day.
Does anyone have info on this company; i.e. communication, mentors, line pay, etc. Greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Anyone working for them presently? ...
Anyone worked their recently? Professionally run? Pay on time and don't skim lines? Enough work? Don't want to waste my time on another circus. Thanks for your help! ...
I was looking into Transportal? I was wondering if you can do over the 1200 minimum lines required each day or if they don't like it when you go over your minimum? Does anyone love working for Transportal?
Thanks ...
Is anyone IC status at Transportal? Do you have a HIPPA policy in place? What is everyone's experience with IC versus employee status with Transportal?
Thanks

Just got hired with them... and I'm on my last day of the first pay period... and let me tell you!!! If you get an offer... RUN!! It sounds good, but is far from it! Their sound files are horrible, they don't pay you any kind of training pay ( which I mistakenly MISSED on my part!! oops.. won't make that mistake again), and only give you LIMITED WORK while on QA review which amounts to like 200-300 lines a day!, and.... they have no account specifics whatsoever f ...
Was the recent account lost, their ortho account? I was thinking of applying but don't want to waste me time if they don't have their big ortho anymore. ...
I am very good in orthopedics, have done quite a bit in my many years of transcription, did well on the tests as far as I could tell, but got an email that I didn't qualify. Now I see they have another job posting for the same job. What's up? Is it hard to get a job with them. Seriously, orthopedics is my thing and I am well experienced at it. I applied again just in case. Any infro anyone can give on getting a job there? Are they just hard to get a job with? ...
With the new IC agreement due this week has anyone decided to write more than 8 cents on page 4 of the agreement on #1 under the Compensation heading? Do any ICs make more than 8 cents at TransPortal? I am thrilled with the flexibility of TransPortal. However, it would obviously be nice to have a raise. ...
They have been hiring quite a bit lately. Really considering applying there. Does anyone work for them or have any recent information on them; a lot of the archives are pretty old.
Thanks in advance! Be blessed! ...
pay 8 cents a line? This is awfully low for an IC position isn't it? I mean, when you are IC don't you have to pay your own taxes and have no benefits at all? So in essence it's a lot less than 8 cents. Are they out of the their minds or is this how long IC jobs are paying now? Around 10 years ago when I considered an IC job it paid 13-15 cents a line to offset. ???? ...
Just wondering if anybody had any current information about working as a Transportal QA specialist, how the experience was or is, good or bad, etc.
Thanks! ...
Does anyone have information regarding this company, i.e., platform, flexibility in working time (no schedule?), anything you care to add, good or bad would be appreciated. Thanks. ...
i had a job interview with Transportal's recruiter this past week and one of the things she mentioned is the fact that they will require ICs to purchase Errors and Omissions insurance. She said that by February 2010 the government would be requiring all IC medical transcriptionists to have this coverage. Have they told their current employees/ICs about this and, if so, does anyone have any idea what it costs? It sounds like a good company and the job offer is definit ...
I know places like Transcription Doctors, etc, work for the bigger companies like Superior Global and then pay the MT less. Does Transportal have their own accounts or are they hired by other companies. Anyone know?
Thanks ...
