Transportal is a great place to work, even though - Formeremployee

I resigned from Transportal, it was a good experience for me. All the managment staff and supervisors were always helpful to me and when work was low at times, you could flex or hours or it would not be counted against you. QA is very helpful. I worked on VR side and it was very pleasant.

I had 3 accounts at US Transcription. I ended up leaving because all 3 of my accounts constantly ran out of work. I'm pretty sure they overhire. My primary account was an overflow account, though I was not told that when I was hired. By the time I left I had only worked about 10 hours in a month. QA was wonderful. Platform is pretty good except VPN lost connection often enough to be annoying. Benefits were only so-so. No paid vacation or holidays and some accounts you are expected to work holidays but you do get paid if you work them. You are expected to only take a set amount of days off a year, but they are all unpaid. They have canned normals they require you to use on some accounts that you do not get paid full line rate for. Supervisors good except my primary one who was a screamer (you know scream at you first, then nicer later when she feels better from screaming). Management always fair and respectful. IT staff wonderful. My take is if your account is okay, it's an okay place to work. I had no problems making my lines on my primary account. One of my secondary accounts was awful, and there was no way I was ever going to make my lines on that account if it became my primary which is what was starting to happen when my primary really dried up. So I think it depends on your account. Pay is equal to what's out there now, not the highest I've seen but not the dregs either.

I worked at UST and what they didn't tell me when I was interviewed is that it is overflow work, meaning when work was light the hospital MTs got the work and we were told to "get out of the pool" until late in the day, long after I was available to work, and then I would be chided because I didn't meet my "hourly" requirement. Ummm, maybe if the work had been there when I was scheduled to work, I would have done my hours! Absolutely and positively the most antiquated system you will ever encounter. Visualize keeping manual records of all the jobs you do, including line count! Nice people though but I can't recommend them.
I was looking into Transportal? I was wondering if you can do over the 1200 minimum lines required each day or if they don't like it when you go over your minimum? Does anyone love working for Transportal?
Thanks ...
Is anyone IC status at Transportal? Do you have a HIPPA policy in place? What is everyone's experience with IC versus employee status with Transportal?
Thanks

Just got hired with them... and I'm on my last day of the first pay period... and let me tell you!!! If you get an offer... RUN!! It sounds good, but is far from it! Their sound files are horrible, they don't pay you any kind of training pay ( which I mistakenly MISSED on my part!! oops.. won't make that mistake again), and only give you LIMITED WORK while on QA review which amounts to like 200-300 lines a day!, and.... they have no account specifics whatsoever f ...
Was the recent account lost, their ortho account? I was thinking of applying but don't want to waste me time if they don't have their big ortho anymore. ...
I am very good in orthopedics, have done quite a bit in my many years of transcription, did well on the tests as far as I could tell, but got an email that I didn't qualify. Now I see they have another job posting for the same job. What's up? Is it hard to get a job with them. Seriously, orthopedics is my thing and I am well experienced at it. I applied again just in case. Any infro anyone can give on getting a job there? Are they just hard to get a job with? ...
With the new IC agreement due this week has anyone decided to write more than 8 cents on page 4 of the agreement on #1 under the Compensation heading? Do any ICs make more than 8 cents at TransPortal? I am thrilled with the flexibility of TransPortal. However, it would obviously be nice to have a raise. ...
They have been hiring quite a bit lately. Really considering applying there. Does anyone work for them or have any recent information on them; a lot of the archives are pretty old.
Thanks in advance! Be blessed! ...
pay 8 cents a line? This is awfully low for an IC position isn't it? I mean, when you are IC don't you have to pay your own taxes and have no benefits at all? So in essence it's a lot less than 8 cents. Are they out of the their minds or is this how long IC jobs are paying now? Around 10 years ago when I considered an IC job it paid 13-15 cents a line to offset. ???? ...
Just wondering if anybody had any current information about working as a Transportal QA specialist, how the experience was or is, good or bad, etc.
Thanks! ...
Does anyone have information regarding this company, i.e., platform, flexibility in working time (no schedule?), anything you care to add, good or bad would be appreciated. Thanks. ...
i had a job interview with Transportal's recruiter this past week and one of the things she mentioned is the fact that they will require ICs to purchase Errors and Omissions insurance. She said that by February 2010 the government would be requiring all IC medical transcriptionists to have this coverage. Have they told their current employees/ICs about this and, if so, does anyone have any idea what it costs? It sounds like a good company and the job offer is definit ...
Does anyone have info on this company; i.e. communication, mentors, line pay, etc. Greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Anyone working for them presently? ...
I know places like Transcription Doctors, etc, work for the bigger companies like Superior Global and then pay the MT less. Does Transportal have their own accounts or are they hired by other companies. Anyone know?
Thanks ...
I work for Transportal and recently one of my accounts went from drowning us with work to NOTHING. I haven't had any work now for over a week. My last 2 paychecks were just over $1000 each and now this paycheck will be just over $200!! I've asked supervisors/team lead about this multiple times and they claim to know nothing about it. Just wondering if anyone working for Transportal had any info?? Thanks! ...
I got an email from Transportal for the MT test. I just got a job this week that I love so far. Anyone know what the pay is there? The job I got is much much less stress than the company jobs. There is no way I want to leave this one for that one. ...
