Just wondering if anybody had any current information about working as a Transportal QA specialist, how the experience was or is, good or bad, etc.
Thanks!

As far as QA positions go, it is pretty typical. When new accounts are brought on the amount of QA increases but it is always a full-time position. They recently added a benefits option. Decent pay, always on time.

Thanks, MTKitty. You mentioned they recently added benefits, does that include PTO and health insurance? I thought I heard some time ago they didn't offer PTO at all, but maybe that has changed.
Thanks again.

Never a shortage of work to do and a good company that seems to be committed to transcription in the USA.

I would think twice about being a QA specialist there. I was one and it's an extremely difficult job, mostly because the account specs for their accounts are not well written and outdated, which causes confusion and mistakes. Plus, if there is a lot of work, you are expected to put extra time, which is fine except it happens A LOT! It's a salaried position, so you won't get paid overtime for that. Between that, the horrible account specs, and the fact that they make company decisions without including the QA team in on it I would discourage you from applying. Even though I have a production based paying job again, I'm MUCH happier and I'm making pretty much the same amount of money working less hours. Good luck and hope you find something that works well for you!
I was looking into Transportal? I was wondering if you can do over the 1200 minimum lines required each day or if they don't like it when you go over your minimum? Does anyone love working for Transportal?
Thanks ...
Is anyone IC status at Transportal? Do you have a HIPPA policy in place? What is everyone's experience with IC versus employee status with Transportal?
Thanks

Just got hired with them... and I'm on my last day of the first pay period... and let me tell you!!! If you get an offer... RUN!! It sounds good, but is far from it! Their sound files are horrible, they don't pay you any kind of training pay ( which I mistakenly MISSED on my part!! oops.. won't make that mistake again), and only give you LIMITED WORK while on QA review which amounts to like 200-300 lines a day!, and.... they have no account specifics whatsoever f ...
Was the recent account lost, their ortho account? I was thinking of applying but don't want to waste me time if they don't have their big ortho anymore. ...
I am very good in orthopedics, have done quite a bit in my many years of transcription, did well on the tests as far as I could tell, but got an email that I didn't qualify. Now I see they have another job posting for the same job. What's up? Is it hard to get a job with them. Seriously, orthopedics is my thing and I am well experienced at it. I applied again just in case. Any infro anyone can give on getting a job there? Are they just hard to get a job with? ...
With the new IC agreement due this week has anyone decided to write more than 8 cents on page 4 of the agreement on #1 under the Compensation heading? Do any ICs make more than 8 cents at TransPortal? I am thrilled with the flexibility of TransPortal. However, it would obviously be nice to have a raise. ...
They have been hiring quite a bit lately. Really considering applying there. Does anyone work for them or have any recent information on them; a lot of the archives are pretty old.
Thanks in advance! Be blessed! ...
pay 8 cents a line? This is awfully low for an IC position isn't it? I mean, when you are IC don't you have to pay your own taxes and have no benefits at all? So in essence it's a lot less than 8 cents. Are they out of the their minds or is this how long IC jobs are paying now? Around 10 years ago when I considered an IC job it paid 13-15 cents a line to offset. ???? ...
Does anyone have information regarding this company, i.e., platform, flexibility in working time (no schedule?), anything you care to add, good or bad would be appreciated. Thanks. ...
i had a job interview with Transportal's recruiter this past week and one of the things she mentioned is the fact that they will require ICs to purchase Errors and Omissions insurance. She said that by February 2010 the government would be requiring all IC medical transcriptionists to have this coverage. Have they told their current employees/ICs about this and, if so, does anyone have any idea what it costs? It sounds like a good company and the job offer is definit ...
Does anyone have info on this company; i.e. communication, mentors, line pay, etc. Greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Anyone working for them presently? ...
I know places like Transcription Doctors, etc, work for the bigger companies like Superior Global and then pay the MT less. Does Transportal have their own accounts or are they hired by other companies. Anyone know?
Thanks ...
I work for Transportal and recently one of my accounts went from drowning us with work to NOTHING. I haven't had any work now for over a week. My last 2 paychecks were just over $1000 each and now this paycheck will be just over $200!! I've asked supervisors/team lead about this multiple times and they claim to know nothing about it. Just wondering if anyone working for Transportal had any info?? Thanks! ...
I got an email from Transportal for the MT test. I just got a job this week that I love so far. Anyone know what the pay is there? The job I got is much much less stress than the company jobs. There is no way I want to leave this one for that one. ...
