Even though Karen doesn't realize how offensive her entitled post to you is about there being hope for you. I personally didn't see that there was anything wrong in the way you said "The people you mention belong to a union." You didn't have to give me a source or compile any data for me to understand what you trying to depict with that statement. There was nothing abusive in that reply to her. Just know that the things that Karen had to say to you were Karen being abusive to you.
