In some situations, but even in strikes with union backing, management steps in and gets the work done, and there are always going to be workers willing to cross the picket line. If MTs strike without benefit of a union, there is no reason to return them to their jobs, especially when it is work that can be automated and sent offshore. In one of my other posts, I questioned how labor laws would affect ICs who want to go on strike since they agreed to work with the contract they were given. Last but not least, MT is a job without a future so I don't know why anyone wants to strike in the first place. It might be easier to call it quits and find another occupation, especially for anyone in their 30s or 40s, but I never know what I'm talking about.
