Anyone can go on strike, but don't be surprised if you find - a new person

sitting in your chair when you try to come back. I suppose if you filed a grievance against your employer, that might give you some safe harbor, but not showing up for work and saying I'm on strike all alone might be the end of your job. Strikes work if the employer needs their employees. If you're just talking about one person not working, then it might not be so hard to replace that one person. It's usually the mass refusal of a group of people that refuse to work and the whole group that have the power over the employer that works in a strike situation.
