Yes, when I was working for a hospital in Pennsylvania I learned that a new merger they had done was requiring MDs to join or they banned referrals to their practices, including a well-known and very good oncologist. On top of that, the MDs are required to maintain a certain amount of income going into the merged company. How is that for good healthcare? Just what we all need, MDs trying to care & do a good job but the large corp requires them to bring in a sizable income or they could be put out of practice.

Then we can touch on the exorbitant salaries most CEOs of these large hospital conglomerates make.
